Blinking, I opened my eyes as the bright lights radiated off my face. I couldn't see anything but white rays. Shifting my head, I grimaced as I narrowed my eyes painfully.

I've just been poked with something that made me pass out. Milestiba a young girl was woken up by Jay from certain death and it killed her. She was dead but Milestiba must have magic too because she brought her back. Then they must have taken us all. Milestiba pretended to still be sick while telling me that I needed her to get away. Who is that girl and why is it I am meeting a bunch of people with magic that is a crime that Lord Heath would have them killed for?

I clenched my hands to find out they were tied tightly together by ropes. More importantly, where is Jay and what are they going to do to her if they know she has magic?

Gritting my teeth, I fought the dizziness in my head as I slowly rolled my feet out of the bed they'd put me in. I widened my eyes in shock to see that I was in a room built completely of glass with bars far enough forward that no human could reach it. I had a distinct feeling that I was no longer at the hospital as I gazed around at the solemnly dark walls with a desk nearby. I narrowed my eyes at the equipment on the desk. There were some weird shaped weapons; the same type that they used to hit me. What the heck are those things?

I gazed behind me to see Jauda lying unconscious on the bed in the mirrored cell next to me. Unlike my room, this seemed more like a hospital with trays near her with different medical instruments on the side enclosed in a clear plastic case. One of the four walls in her room was solid white; cement. But like mine, she had no privacy other then that.

Standing up, I stumbling toward her cell, clutching the cold metal bars as I gazed through at her pale face. The rise and fall of her chest indicated that she was breathing. I released a sigh of relief as I realized I'd held my breath with agitation. Now I just had to figure out what this place was meant for and why we were here...

I didn't have to wonder long as two wide doors opened from my left. I gazed through as men and women in white coats and glasses walked in. Behind them trailed some men dressed in blue and black, armed heavily with the weird weapons I've been seeing a lot of lately, all wearing serious faces.

I reverted my gaze as they all simultaneously glanced at me.

Muscles tense, I listened as another door opened, and glanced out of the corner of my eye as a woman in white and a man in blue and black entered.

"Excuse me, sir," the woman announced herself in a stern voice demanding that I acknowledged her.

Slowly, I turned around, putting my back to the bars as I gripped them on either side with white knuckles. I had no weapons of defense and I felt more helpless then ever. I did indeed fear them.

"I'm Derik," the man in blue and black introduced himself; "I am the policeman who found you and your friend in the woods. We are not here to threaten you; Hannah just has a few questions she needs an answer to before she releases you both."

"Lets get on with it Derik," Hannah said impatiently as she gazed at me through hard brown eyes. Somehow I didn't believe a word they said anymore.

Derik nodded and glanced back at me quickly. "As I said, we are good and we are only trying to get a few answers before the two of you are on your way. Please cooperate and don't do anything..."

Derik trailed off as Hannah glared impatiently at him and after a final glance; he nodded and left, shutting the clear door behind him.

I gazed at Hannah as she gazed back through the bars that still separated us. After only a brief moment of silence she asked, "first off, what is your name?"
