I walk into my new school, Canton South High School, home of the Wildcats. A newly built high school, all new kids, teachers, classrooms, rules, everything. Kids give me looks and some snicker. I didn't know what to do so I just stand against the wall listening to my Nightcore playlist. With all these new kids staring at me, I could feel my anxiety acting up. Being at a new school, a new me, and a new life, it all feels good to be refreshed. I still missed my best friend Madison from my old school, and I hope I can still hang out with her on the weekends.
You know how parents are, "Oh cheer up, you will find new friends and you will get over those other kids from your old school." Yeah right, if only it was that easy. Parents don't understand sometimes, i swear they only say somethings just to try and how to make you stronger and braver. Yeah that's not going to happen honey, so try again.
The bell rings and I look at my schedule. I don't understand, how come no one is trying to help me find my new classes, whatever, I don't need anyone anyway, just me, myself, and I. Walking around the school like a moron was I guess a show for everyone. Finally a nice boy walked up to me and he stopped and smiled at me. I didn't who he was or what he wanted, but all I could do is smile back.
"Hi. I can tell your new here. My name is Kyle. Kyle Haggard. I can help you if you want some help to find your classes."
All I could do is smile and say, "Hi Kyle, I'm Katie Smith. And yeah I would love to have some help finding my new classes, if that's not to much to ask."
"I would love to show you your classes Katie. Can I see your schedule?"
I hand Kyle my schedule and follow him to my class. I guess him and I have the class. I sat beside him because he was the only one helping me at this school. Well I guess your not allowed to sit by a boy or hang out with a boy because when a group of these girls walked in there all like, "Oooooh! Kyle's got a new girlfriend!" I looked down at my desk and I stared at the notebook for my science class.
"Don't worry about them." Kyle said. "They think their the big, bad, popular group of girls."
All I could do is smile and snicker a little. They gave me a dirty look and then looked away and started laughing again. Kyle looked at me and then looked back at his desk. Kyle was amazing. He had the brightest blue eyes, amazing blonde hair, braces on semi-perfect teeth, he was built like a football player, and his voice wasn't to deep but it was too high, it was perfect, just like him. I caught myself staring at him and looked away in shame. It wasn't even a full day for me and I'm fantasizing over a boy.
I got so lost in thought over Kyle, that when the teacher talked, I jumped and of course I got laughed at. First day and it's already going OK. Maybe this school isn't as bad as I thought, especially with Kyle by my side.
