"I'll make it out before then, Just go." He persisted causing them both to finally nod their heads in return and whilst Elena began walking, Stefan looked to Olivia ⏤ suspicious as to why she hadn't said anything.

"Olivia?" He asked, causing Elena to also stop and also look back to the blonde who sighed loudly before speaking.

"God, I'm so going to regret this later..." she began resulting in the couple to glance at her in confusion whilst Damon looked to her curiously. "I'll stay, make sure none of the tomb vamps end up killing anyone before the device is activated."

"But what about you?" He asked, slightly concerned for the blonde he had only recently met.

"Trust me, I'll be fine, I'm not that easy to kill." She said with a smile that she directed to Damon, referring to their first meeting and whilst he wanted to roll his eyes or glare in response he couldn't fight away the smile that made its way onto his lips.

"Just... be careful," Stefan said.

"Careful is kind of an unknown term for me," she began with a smile which made him give her a pointed look. "But I'll try." With that Elena and Stefan, both left in the opposite direction leaving Damon and Olivia alone on the empty streets.

"Why are you helping us?" He asked as soon as his brother was out of earshot. He barely knew this girl, let alone he tried to kill her so why would she risk her life to save theirs.

"Let's just say that it would work a lot better for me with these tomb vampires gone." She replied honestly. She would have never stayed to simply save the others, she solely was doing this for her own benefits and if there was the slightest chance she could end up dead, she certainly would not be here right now. "I guess I'll see you when it's over."

"Unless we both end up dead," Damon stated with a smirk.

"Yeah or that." She said, nodding her head with a brief smile, finding his dry humour and blunt speech refreshing for a change. With that, Olivia disappeared from the isolated walkway leaving Damon in his own company.

Damon stayed in his position momentarily thinking about how different and strange Olivia was and how she was unlike anyone else he knew. He couldn't quite understand her or her choices, and she was certainly nothing like Elena. Why he made the comparison in his head between the two was a mystery to him but he couldn't seem to get over how different she was. He wasn't too sure of the right word to describe her with and didn't even think one of that existed, but intriguing was the best he could come up with.

He dismissed his thoughts quickly though before he too disappeared in an attempt to find Jeremy and then get the hell away from the Town Square before he dies along with all of the other vampires here in Mystic Falls.

Olivia began walking the streets at a fast pace yet as she did, John Gilbert was unknowingly activating the device. He opened up the watch and the mechanism before rotating the dial, releasing a frequency that could only be heard by vampires or so they thought.
