New school new me. New school new me. New school new me.

I'd been saying that a lot lately, now more than ever actually, seeing as I just stepped into my new school for the first time.

My dad, my brother Adam, and I had recently moved here to this little country town and so far it was good. We moved only two weeks ago and our Dad had decided that enough was enough, we had to start at school this Monday.

It was the first Monday of November and we'd be having our Christmas holidays in a month and a bit anyways, so I wasn't too mad about school.

But standing here, at my new locker without my brother (his locker was at the other side of the school), I was not loving it.

The whole thing about a new me? That was about me trying to step out of my comfort zone. Which was a very small zone if I'm being honest.

I hadn't any friends in the town I grew up in, only my brother. I don't like people touching me, only my brother, and even then only hugs. I didn't like small spaces or smoking or people with bad tempers. I didn't like loud noises or overwhelming situations.I didn't like going out or drinking. Most of all, I didn't like my mother.

So ya, a very small comfort zone.

But anyways, now was not the time. Pulling out the already crumpled timetable from the back pocket of my jeans, I scanned over my timetable.

It wasn't too bad I guess. I liked English, Media and History. Plus free period last class. Please, that's just begging to be skipped.

With that being said, I started walking off to find my class but bumped into a slightly taller red headed girl.

"I'm so sorry," I squeaked, looking down at my shoes, not wanting to make the girl any more mad.

"Hey don't worry about it, are you new here or have I just not seen ya round?" She asked me nicely, I was amazed by her response really. I mean she wasn't even a bit mad.

Unlike that time where I ran into my mother and she cut three inches off my hair, and only on one side. I remember walking around like that for a week before I went to my dads and he fixed it for me.

Not a good memory.

"I'm, ya actually my brother Adam and I moved here recently, it's our first day today," I explained quietly, hoping she'd stay talking though which wasn't usual for me.

"Oh that's cool, are you a senior? I'm a senior so if you are we might have some classes together. Oh maybe you'd like to sit with me at lunch, I don't know, I've never become friends with any newbies before" she went on happily, clearly she was a talker.

"That'd be great actually, and ya I'm a senior, my brother is too, we're twins," I told her with a smile. I loved having a twin. Instant best friend in my case.

"Wow twins, don't think I've ever been friends with twins before but there's a first for everything right," she said pulling out her timetable, "right let's compare".

So we did, turns out we had history and maths together. Lower maths,(I did not like maths) but higher history.

As my new friend was just about to leave she turned towards me again. "What's your name by the way, I can't believe I forgot to ask, I'm Ellie" she said with a little wave, I couldn't believe I hadn't asked either, goes to show how great my social skills are.
