I wrapped my hands tightly in the cloth beneath me, squeezing my eyes shut as tight as I could. I haven't been able to sleep in days ,hell it felt like months.

My moms new husband is back and when I say 'back', I mean from his constant disappearances.

Her relationship has never been stable, but it never fails that she chooses him , over me. He's a monster , It doesn't really take a 'top notch detective' to figure out why my mom appears with these random bumps , cuts, and/ or bruises.

'Oh its nothing , I fell down some stairs'

'Clumsy me bumping into things again'

Really , ? I couldn't wrap my head around how she could do this on a regular basis. Of course she drunk alot , just to intoxicate herself so  the pain went away for as long as her deadbeat husband Did. .

I would ask her why she didn't leave him , but it would always be explained that it wasn't easy to leave the one that you love , or if she was deeply intoxicated it would result in a punishment or a few bruises that matched hers..

He stumbled into my room alarming me as I jerked backward in the darkness, his figure illuminated by the hallway light.

I pulled the lamp string next to my bed, light filling the small room.

His brown hair was a mess ,black circles surrounded his eyes as if he was deprived of sleep, and sweat glued his clothes to his skin.

"I-i merrrsttt youuu" He slurred .

Miss me ? Why would he miss me? I thought frantically .

He lurked forward collapsing on the tip of my bed slowly out stretching his arm to touch the skin of my leg ,sending a chill up my spine. I wanted to scream and run but , I just couldn't. .. Sweat dripped down from my hairline as I shakily tried to slide my leg from his soft grip as it tightened. I gasped , praying he wouldn't do anything.

"Whettt? ,You don't m-" He hiccuped "-Miss me too."

He laughed as he saw the look of terror that played across my face.

"Your not s-scarrred are you?" His eyes fell lazy as he crawled up my bed , putting a warm sweaty hand onto my face.

I flinched back.

The amusement that once was there had disappeared and Was replaced with anger.

"You don't miss me do you ?" His voice started off soft . "DO YOU!" He began to yell. I pressed myself so far back I felt as if I'd break through the next wall.

What was I to say?

Silence seemed to be my only option at the moment.
