"Tae, if I ever leave you, please just, just end me. Because the only reason I'd ever leave you, is if you pushed me away."
Tae pulled back.
He stuck out his pinky.
"Pinkie promise?" Yoongi smiled faintly.
Tae had always been childish, that's why Yoongi doesn't want him to get hurt, for he's afraid of the person he might become.
"I pinky promise."
Yoongi put out his pinky and their pinkies intertwined. Before their thumbs could connect, there was a knock at the door. Yoongi and Tae both look at the door, then look at each other.
"Should I-." Yoongi slowly motions his hands towards the door.
Tae nods.
Yoongi approaches the door and opens it, with Tae looking from behind Yoongi's shoulder.
Yoongi looked at the person who was at the door, and immediately slammed it.
"Yoongi!"
Said Tae as he approached to open the door.
Yoongi quickly grabbed him.
"Don't."
Yoongi said holding onto Tae's arm.
"Who is it?"
Tae looks at Yoongi.
Yoongi lightly bites his lips.
"It's uh."
Yoongi doesn't want to lie.
"Hello?" Said the voice from across the door. Tae suddenly froze.
He knew that voice.
He opened it to find Jimin standing there with doe eyes, what seemed to be pjs, and messy hair.
Yoongi slowly appeared behind Tae looking at Jimin. There was fire in Yoongi's eyes. A raging passion to kill. Jimin felt intimidated by the way Yoongi was practically staring into his soul.
He clears his throat.
"Uh, may I speak with you Tae? Alone."
Tae looked at Yoongi.
Yoongi shook his head.
Tae blinked a few times.
Yoongi sighed and walked out, eyeing Jimin the whole time.
"Call me if you need anything."
Yoongi said as he hugged Tae and kissed his forehead. Jimin felt weird. But didn't know why. Yoongi walks out, and Tae motions for Jimin to come in.
After a few moments of silence Jimin finally speaks.
"Tae, I'm an ass. I'm the worst human being on this planet. This sin that I've committed is only punishable by death, but I swear to you Tae, you not wanting to be my friend is worst than death. I'm not asking you to forgive me."
Jimin's eyes were watery, it hurt to talk, his nostrils were stinging, and his voice was cracking.
Out of no where Jimin got onto his knees and practically begged Tae. Tae, was a bit shocked at Jimins sudden reaction to bow.
"Tae, you don't have to like me. But I want you to know I never meant to walk out on you. I was just overwhelmed and handled the situation poorly. Please, don't ever think I was trying to push you away."
Jimin was crying at this point. Tae walked over. He crouched down and patted Jimin's back.
"I'm not going to say it's ok, because if I say 'it's ok' I'm saying that it's ok that you hurt me, but it's not. So instead, I'll forgive you."
Tae looked at Jimins shaking body. He grabbed Jimin and Jimin latched onto Tae for dear life. Jimin then continued to cry into Tae's shoulder, making his shirt all wet.
"Tae I'm so sorry. I care for you and I didn't want you to stop being my friend, I always want you near me. Thank you for letting me back in."
Jimin held onto Tae even tighter. Tae let his head rest on Jimin's shoulder.
"I'm not even sure why I'm letting you back in." Jimin let's go. They're sitting on their legs. Jimin sniffles and rubs his face. Tae pats Jimin's head.
"Tae." Jimin said in a light whisper, to which Tae responded in a hm.
"I- I really love you-re presents . And I'm not gonna leave your side for the next 24 hours."
Tae laughed and Jimin looked at Tae.
"Oh, you're serious?"
Jimin nodded.
"I've never been more serious in my life. You deserve my full attention and that's all your going to get tomorrow."
Tae smiled.
"Alright. I need someone to look after me once in a while."
Tae got up and so did Jimin.
"So does that mean I can sleep over?"
Tae looked at Jimin and chuckled.
"It looks like you're ready for bed already."
Jimin blushed. He was wearing his chick pjs. "I- I came here in a rush, and I, I didn't have time to-."
"It's fine. You look cute." Tae smiled.
Jimin let out a faint smile. His eyes were really puffy, but he felt better now that Tae was talking to him again.
"Oh, can I use your phone? I need to text my boyfriend and tell him I got here safely."
Tae frowned.
"I thought you were going to give me all your love and attention."
"I- but I don't want to worry him."
Jimin fiddled his fingers.
"I'm kidding."
Tae wasn't kidding. He was kind of jealous. Jimin worries about this guy. Even though Jimin was with this guy, it felt as though this guy was taking Jimin away from him.
"Here." Tae hands Jimin his phone and Jimin smiles.
"Thanks." He grabs the phone and dials his boyfriend.
"Hello? Yea it's me. I just wanted to let you know I got to Tae's house safely. I'm going to stay over.
Sleep on the couch?"
Jimin looked up at Tae.
Tae was sitting on the couch acting as if he didn't hear the conversation.
"Don't be silly I'm not going to have sex with him. He's my friend."
Tae felt offended. Why didn't Jimin want to sleep with him? Tae would be great in bed. All the girls say so anyways. Tae was zoned out to listen to the rest of the conversation.
"Alright." Jimin plopped onto the couch.
"What do you need."
Tae looked at Jimin and pondering the question. Tae raised his eyebrows and got up. Jimin sat on the couch with his eyebrows furrowed.
Tae then walked into the kitchen and then to the table. The ruffled with some bags and pulled out two things. He came back and gave one to Jimin. It was a book.
'Abelard and Heloise.' Jimin felt mixed emotions. This was the book he was going to read with Tae at the field.
The same field where-.
His thought was caught off mid sentence. "Read it to me out loud."
Jimin muscles relaxed.
"Ok." Jimin opened the book.
"Have you read it before?"
"Yup. It's a classic. It's like another Romeo and Juliet."
Jimin thought that there wasn't a book in the world Tae hasn't read.
"So, do they also die?" Tae bits his bottom lip. "I guess you're just going to have to read to find out."
Jimin sighed.
"Ok."
Jimin read the book to Tae. After an hour, Tae got tired. He wanted to lay down but the couch wasn't big enough. Jimin saw that Tae was sleepy.
"I could stop reading and we could go to bed if you want."
"No it's fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Really I'm fine."
Tae closes his eyes and begins to doze off. Jimin smiles lightly and rolls his eyes. He pulls Tae's head down onto his lap. Tae is greeted by Jimin's warm body. Tae blushes a bit and closes his eyes.
Jimin continues to read.
Tae gets sleepy. He was exhausted after crying so much. He can't believe he cried over a guy. Tae isn't usually the one to cry. He felt weird crying in front of Yoongi. But Yoongi has always expected Tae, so he never felt uncomfortable. But right now, he could use some comforting. He grabs Jimins hand and puts it on his head.
"It's on days like these where I just need you to run your fingers through my hair and read me stories. Because I've only ever felt safe inside a book."
Tae was tired.
He really wanted to sleep. Jimin smiled fondly. He put the book down and ran his fingers through Tae's hair.
Jimin assumes that Tae went to sleep since he looked tired.
"You're a great human being."
Jimin started.
"You try and please everyone Tae. I understand you tend to put everyone's well being over yours. But the real Kim Taehyung enjoys walks in parks, reading books, watching movies, making art, and listening to music."
Jimin continues to run his fingers through his hair. For some reason Jimin eyes were watery. He wiped his eyes and continue to run his hands through Tae's hair again.
"I hope these are the days you get to live as Kim Taehyung. Do it, for you."
A few moments pass. Tae with his eyes open, was crying. He really just needed to hear that. He needed that more than anything. A few minutes pass by.
Both Tae and Jimin and now asleep.
The moonlight touches their faces. And for once, in a long time, Tae is at peace.
