If you've ever been behind bars.  Let me tell you, it is not as fun as you wish it was.  Sleep, lay around, fights everyday in the canteen, and guards that have no sense of humor.  Oh the joys of being a criminal.  I regret nothing.  There is nothing more satisfying, than people cowering in fear when you walk into a room, and knowing that you have won the mental battle of intimidating them.  This time it was different.  I was chained from head to toe and dragged to a interrogation room and shoved into a hard metal chair.  A man with fiery red hair and soft brown eyes sat in front of me and calmly gazed at me through the thick glass between us.

"Do you still know who I am?"  I scoffed at him and his question.

"Of course I do."  I replied back coldly as the chains around me were taken off and I was free to walk around and move.  The first moment I got out of the chains, the guards who had taken them off shot back and bolted out of the room.  I bared my teeth at their retreating backs and all of them shuddered.

"Really?  I was that popular underground?"

"No."  His face dropped slightly at my cold tone and I smirked at him before getting closer to the glass.

"No Park Jimin.  Detective for the Seoul police.  I was the one who was sent to kill you.  I know quite a lot about you Park.  You have no idea, of the courage it takes to not shatter this glass and come at you right now."

"But I'm not dead.  As you can see.  Why is that?"

"Because the night I was supposed to end you.  I saw you with your family.  And they deserved to not be scarred as their husband drops dead in front of them.  Also the fact that I was called off last minute for something else."  I shrugged at his words and stared at him through the glass.  He seemed taken aback at my words and slightly angered.

"I'll get to the point.  I've come to recruit you for a elite force called Monsta.  It's there to help give criminals a second chance at a free life.  You will be paired up with other criminals as well and I promise to you that you will be safer than in here."

"Wrong again Park.  The outside world will have my head.  And this little team you're putting together... they don't know what I'm capable of.  You're better off alone."

"Would you prefer dying on death row?"  I froze for a moment and Park smirked.  Til my fist smashed into the glass and cracks and splinters flew off and my fist almost went through the foot thick glass.  Park shot up in his seat as I snarled at him in anger.

"Death is just a concept.  One I am familiar with.  You don't understand how much your life means and how much it cost me to not end you.  I will work with this elite team, but don't expect anything but death with me."  I spat out and he nodded slowly.  My fist left the glass and I nodded at him before kicking open the door and walking out.  But not before pausing in the doorway and looking over my shoulder to meet Park's form.

"I swear on my life Park."  His head snapped up to meet my eyes.  "I swear on my life Park Jimin.  That I will avenge your family.  My family.  They were amazing people.  And you don't deserve to carry the weight of their death on your shoulders alone.  Mia was my best friend Park.  But she was your wife, and your child, Aliesia (Ale-e-c-ah) was the best thing that happened to the both of us.  My best friend was killed Park, and my little friend could have been amazing.  I'm not letting my best friend die for nothing, and I'm not letting my could be adopted niece die for nothing.  So promise me Park.  Jimin promise me.  I can see them one last time before I die.  Any way possible Jimin.  Please let me see then before I die."  I turned to face Park who had tears running down his face silently as I walked up to the glass and pressed my palm against it.  A tear escaped my eye and Park pressed his hand flat against the glass, lining up with my own.

"I promise I'll take you to them.  I promise."  His words were slightly trembled and clipped but for the first time in six years.  I smiled.  It was weak and watery but the edges of my lips turned up and I smiled.

"I'll hold you to that."

"I'll come pick you up tomorrow.  You'll be joining all of us tomorrow."  He turned back into detective Park and i turned back into the person I was at prison and we both headed to the doors.

"Orange and black aren't your color."  He teased me.  I wrinkled my nose back at him.

"Neither is light blue Park.  Go for darker colors."  I scowled at him and both of us left.  Park to where ever.  Me back to my cell for sleeping.  I curled up on the rock hard mattress and fell asleep instantly.  Sleep was never energizing for me.  Always full of nightmares.  How I managed to not dread it was a mystery.  But one that I had figured out.

Why dread sleep, when you're going to die anyway?
