Sometime later we all met in the mission debriefing room, or as Lieutenant Griffin calls it, "The room where I get sent to my inevitable death."
"You will all be going off the grid, the deviants will lead this mission, follow their every command," Director Morgan commanded.
"Alright, this is our turf!" Tailor cheered.
"Nice!" Runner called out in response to the previous statements.
"You guys have to follow our orders," Joker spoke in a sing-song tone.
"Great, we're following the young tater-tots' commands, this won't end in someone dying at all!" Lieutenant Griffin spoke with sarcasm dripping off his words like venom.
"Understood sir," I spoke flatly with little emotion showing in my face or tone of voice.
"Now go!" The Director shouted, the words slightly echoed off the walls of the room.
"I'm driving!" West shouted before running off down the halls to the vehicle hangar to jump into the van. There were a few sighs of irritance but the deviants and myself soon followed him at a slower pace.
The wind carried dust along with it as it lazily whipped around, dotted around the barren landscape was rubble some resembling buildings others were too badly damaged to tell what they were originally, they were all halfway buried in the dirt. It looked like a bomb went off here and destroyed almost all signs of former civilization. The air was thick and clouded, the sky had an almost unearthly red hue to it, almost as if we were on Mars, everything around us had an unsettling red hue to it. The wheels of the SUV kicked up dirt and dust as we drove along, we drove past what would appear to have been a hospital at one point, the dust swirled around as it was carried away by the slight wind. The sight was unsettling, to say the least.
"Welcome to our world," Joker spoke in what one would assume to be pride. How one could ever be proud of living out here I will never understand.
"Looks like a bomb went off out here," West spoke with disdain obvious in his voice.
"That's cause one did," Runner replied to West's statement.
"Well according to the files that Joker managed to steal," Tailor added.
"Yes, the files are accurate, several bombs went off out here," I spoke after analyzing a few files to check for accuracy, I then continued with what was found on the files, "The war between the nation's of the old world devastated many of the towns and cities across the country, very few survived the crossfire of the war, eventually rose a new government who thirst for ultimate power, they purposely started the war in hopes they could take over the entirety of the remaining nations, they were always silently pulling the strings from the background."
"Well gee, thanks for the history lesson! Now let's get this over with," West commented in his trademarked resting bitch voice.
"Stop the car!" Joker yelled from the backseat.
West slammed on the breaks to bring the SUV to a screeching halt, "Alright?" He questioned.
I hit my head against the dashboard with quite a lot of force due to the sudden stop, I ended up screaming the first thing that came to my mind, "MOTHERFUCKER!!!"
Joker then climbed out followed by the other deviants before walking towards a collapsed building.
I held my forehead, "You fucking asshole!" I yelled at West before getting out of the large SUV.
"Yup there it is, our symbol," Joker spoke to Runner, before turning to see where Runner was, "Runner?" He questioned.
"Alright, so where are we going? West is staying in the car," I spoke to Joker once I arrived where he was.
