"We've been hacked!" Director Morgan calls out in alarm.
"HOW?!" Pidge yells.
"Someone has got to have serious skill to hack into our database, who in the seven layers of hell could even find it from the outsi- ... Wait, it's from inside?!" Director Morgan shouted while staring at the feed on their tablet in disbelief.
"The deviants," Pidge pauses for a second, "Where are my pants? I'm going to kill them."
The Director made a slight humming noise before speaking, "Hang on don't confront them just yet, let's see what they do."
"They can gain sensitive information! Especially about Project Prophet! He's the most valuable resource we have here!"
"It seems that the information they're gathering is if we know of their abducted teammate, let's go to them now."
Pidge grabs and hastily put on her pants before running down to the deviants quarters.
Director Morgan opens the door. Tailor was asleep on the ground, Runner sitting against the wall, and Joker messing with a phone. Pidge jumps Joker tackling him to the ground.
"Holy shit!" Joker cried out and drops the phone. Director Morgan quickly picks it up. "You managed to break into our unbreakable firewall, with this?" She questioned.
Pidge starts shaking Joker, "How did you do it?!!"
"Whoa hey calm down!"
"Yes, Pidge calm down, I want to know how he did it too, but he can't answer if he's got whiplash." Director Morgan intervened.
Pidge drops Joker's shirt and gets off of him, "But I want to give him whiplash."
Joker rubs his neck before speaking, "You see I have a subscript always running in my tech, it's all homebrewed and reverse engineered from the tech I can salvage off of dead retainers I find, I then just have it all run checks for any and all clues on how to break code, in fact, I can even break into the feel of security cameras, here let me show you.
"Can I see that phone real quick, I need to dismantle it an reclaim the stolen retainer tech," Pidge said visibly annoyed.
Director Morgan handed the phone back to Joker, "What stolen tech? For as far as I'm concerned, he's a retainer now."
"But he doesn't have an identity chip and the mercenaries know him as a deviant! And they'll kick our butts for having him here!!" Pidge yelled in protest.
"Which is why we're not giving him a chip, instead, we'll have him locked up where with our other resident tech genius," Morgan responded.
"Are you referring to me or Prophet?" Pidge questioned after a short pause.
"I'm of course talking about you, now, as per the agreement with your friend there, we will arrange for something better, but for the time being, you three cannot leave this building," Morgan stated before taking her leave.
Leaving a confused Joker and a pissed off Pidge. "Man, and to think this all started with a simple arson job," Joker commented.
"Burn anything here and I will cut you." Pidge threatened before leaving.
"I don't like any of them, be we have to work with the guys who removed our chips so that we can take back our freedom." Tailor said to the other two deviants.
Runner places a hand on the back of her neck, "Hey, do you guys even remember your names?" she asks the two males.
"Nope." Tailor replied flatly.
"No, that's one thing the chip did for us, along with keep track of time, but I don't recall my name in the slightest." Joker stated.
"Let's get to sleep, who knows what might happen if we aren't well rested."
