The following chapter explains every detail involving our database, entry forms, and other processes related to your entry.

ENTRY FORMS

Unlike previous years when the PWA used Google Forms for entry, there will be separate forms for each category in the competition. This means that the Romance category will have its own entry form, along with the other categories. You can access each of these entry forms by clicking the "Enter Here" button on the homepage of the PWA Google Site or clicking it on the side navigation bar. When clicked, you will see this page:

Click which category you would like to enter. When entering multiple entries across different categories, you must fill out multiple forms. Upon clicking a category, you will see a page like this one:

Once you review the requirements of the category you plan to enter and ensure your entry meets said requirements, you click on the "One Shot Entry Form" button, or the designated one for the other categories

You then proceed to enter the information needed. After submitting, your entry will be sent over to us. In the event your book is completed, you will be contacted by an inspector about your inspection status. If your book is incomplete, the inspector will wait until completion to inspect your entry.

DATABASE

After you submit your entry, your book will automatically appear in the database.

The database follows the basic concept of green is good, red is bad. The first entry has one red-colored cell, indicating that this is a status that bars the entry from being inspected. In order to enter the next stage of entry management, the entry must be completed. You will also see that the "Yes" in the "Is this your first time competing in the PWA?" column is bolded. This indicates that this author can qualify for Best New Author, a Special Award we offer.

Our second entry appears to have not undergone any sort of judging. As per a rule in this book, judges are allowed to start reading books that are completed, have passed inspection, and are entered into the competition. This means that your entry can be judged before the judging period/entry deadline. There are two reasons why this second entry in the database has not undergone judging yet. One, the book may have not passed inspection. This process is done privately with the author of the entry, so it would not be publicly listed that they did not pass in the database. Two, the judges simply have not started it yet.

Judging status is determined by monitoring judging templates stored in the PWA Google Drive folder. Based on the number of judges in the category and their status of judging it (whether or not they scored or ranked it), this percentage will increase.

If you wish to withdraw your entry, mark that it is completed, change the title, change the category, or communicate any other changes with us, please comment on the cell you would like to change.

Those monitoring the database will then make the appropriate changes in a timely fashion.
