Chapter 24

Pulling out her phone, she leant against the countertop. "hey Euge?" Kate answered when Eugenie picked up the phone. "You got anything tomorrow afternoon?" Kate asked her as Eugenie replied with: "Not that I'm aware off, you got something planned?" Eugenie asked her in a mischievous voice. "Yes, you need to occupy Meghan for a few hours and be bridezilla's together." Kate teased her as she heard Eugenie burst out in laughter on the other line. "We've been a bit extreme haven't we?" she asked her as Kate hummed in reply.

"Just for a few hours?" Kate asked her as she heard Eugenie say something to Jack in the background. "Alright, I need someone to go over the flowers anyway, It'll take Meghan's mind off of things." Eugenie agreed as Kate let out a sigh of relief. "thanks Euge, next dinner's on me." she told her as the two friends let out a small chuckle, before ending the call.

"You're something." Glen whispered against the side of her head as she flashed him a cheeky grin. "I remember how Pippa was last year around this time. Literally she had me and Kate running up the bloody walls." Kate pointed out with a shake of her head, she still remembered the time very well. She'd been worried sick it would be the thing that made Glen find their way back to them. She'd done well to stay under the radar up to that point. Since he didn't want anything to do with them she'd figured he shouldn't know anything about them either. Well they knew how that had worked out.

"Like you'll be any better." Luke teased her as she nodded her head. "I'm not as bad as them, I bet you I'll have to wipe Harry's ass in line on the day itself." Kate swore, knowing that their wedding day she'd be running all over the place, there wouldn't be much. "No I want to watch that, it's funny." she heard Arthur say and Kate let out a chuckle when she noticed it was the Mask. "We shouldn't have watched it as much when we were pregnant." Kate snickered as Glen wrapped his arms tighter around her middle and let out a snicker against the side of her neck. "See I told you it was funny." they heard Arthur tell Luke as he sat snickering with his little brother.

"How did you come to watch it so much when you were pregnant?" Glen asked her with a shake of his head. "It was the first weekend I was invited to Angelsey, it was on the TV and it kind of stuck from that moment Kate and I watched it at least once a week. Drove Will mad." Kate snickered, thinking back to that time with a fond smile on her face.

"It'll be James, I asked him to look something over for me. He's been doing my investments for the last four years." Kate noted as they heard a knock on the door and she walked towards it to open the door and found Pippa and James on the other side of it. "Sorry, got surprised myself." Kate explained as she let them in and kissed both their cheeks in greeting. "how are you feeling?" Pippa and Kate asked each other in a whisper

"Sore back, but nothing to bad. glad not to be hung over the toilet again." Kate admitted as Pippa let out a chuckle whilst nodding her head. "I'm glad I haven't had to deal with it like you and Kate have." Pippa admitted as she patted her stomach where her and James' baby was growing. "You sure we're not imposing?" She heard James ask Glen as Glen shook his head whilst introducing them to his family as Kate did the same with Pippa.

"Thanks for wanting to look it over again." she thanked James with a fond smile. "Of course, you don't have to worry about it you know that. I'll take care of that for as long as I need to." he assured her with a smile and reassuring nod of his head. "thanks anyway." she told him as she handed him the folder.

"Could you maybe look into something to fund the next dig in Scotland?" she asked him as he nodded his head. "I'll have a loot at the office tomorrow." James reassured her with a nod of her head as they sat down around the big dinning table and Glen's family got to know one of her friends a bit better. Arthur insisted on sitting between Aunty Pippa and his brother Luke.
