Chapter 11

                            *Tessa*

I lean against Will. He wraps his arm around me.

"Are you warm enough?" He whispers.

"Yes, are you?"

"I'm a little chilly, but I'll make it."

"I'll go get you some apple cider, would you like that?"

"That would be great, thanks."

"You're welcome." I kiss his forehead. "I'll be right back."

"Okay."

                              *Will*

Tessa comes back in. She hands me the cup.

"It's really hot, careful."

"I will, don't worry." I take a drink. it's warm and comforting.

"Better?"

"Yes." She sits next me again. I rub her shoulders. She smiles at me.

"You are so nice to me."

"it's my job." She leans against me. "Are you tired?"

"A little, yeah." She says yawning.

"Let's go to bed."

"Okay."

                             *Tessa*

I wake up the next morning, Will is still sleeping.  His face looks flushed. I can feel the heat coming off his body. He shivers once I get up.

"Will?"

"Hmm?" His voice is a hoarse crack.

"You're sick. Oh, you poor thing." I kneel next to him. "Will You're burning up!"

"I'll be Okay. You don't have to worry about me."

"Through sickness and health, remember? "

"I do." I smile and kiss his forehead. 

"Then I'm taking care of you."

"It's Okay, I'll be Okay."

"No arguing,  I'm taking care of you. That's final."

                         *Will*

Tessa adjusts my pillow and adds another cover.

"Please drink that, you need to stay hydrated."

"It hurts my throat Tess. " My voice is hoarse and it cracks when I speak. I'm so pathetic when I'm sick.

"I know, but it's warm, so it will help you." Jem runs in.

"Where's will? is he Okay?!"

"I'm right here Jem, and Yes, I'm Okay, just a little under the weather." He puts his hand on my forehead.

"Oh You're burning up!! I'll be back." He walks off then comes back five minutes later with a cool washcloth and a bowl of ice water. He dabs the washcloth on my face. "Better?"

"Getting there, Yes."

"Thank you Jem."

"It's no big deal, hey I've got a mission downtown, take care of him."

"He's in excellent hands."

"Be careful." I whisper. 

"Don't worry about me, you just focus on getting better."

"Okay."

                          *Alec*

I run to where I know I'll find Will and Tessa.

"Tessa!!"

"Yes?"

"Something has happened..." Will gets up and nearly falls down.

"Where's James?!"

"He's hurt, bad." I hear Will's breathe catch.

"No." He sits down again. "I need to see him."

"You really should rest for now. "

"NO!! I want to see him now!!"

"Will, lie down, get some rest."

"Bring him in here please."

"I'll have Magnus bring him."

"Thank you."
