He pulled out another folder.

"Ernie and Patricia Clearwater, ages 47 and 45, married for thirty years, not able to have their own children. A total of 147 children and teens have lived with them at one point. Almost all of them have had over ten hospital visits."

"How the f*ck are they still allowed to keep children?"

"They polish themselves up on the outside and keep the kids quiet."

"That's f*cking bullshit." I said.

"I agree." Dad said. "I assume that you will still be paying them a visit sometime."

"Possibly." I said.

"Well Ernie is frequent flyer at The Playhouse and Andrew is often with him. It seems like Andrew is his golden boy. Never had a hospital visit and has been with Ernie for over fifteen years. He's 18 but still lives with them."

"The girls don't turn 18 for a few months. What do we do till then?" Enzo asked.

"Let them stay with you if they want."

"Andrew and Ernie?"

Dad smirked at me. "I'm sure your brother will take care of them."

(Ruby's POV)

"Thank you, Mrs. Bianchi." I said as she fixed us both a cup of tea.

"You're very welcome. And it's Juliet." She smiled.

"So what do you do for a living?" Audrey asked making small talk.

"I was a stay-at-home mom but now I sit at home and wait for my husband to come back from work." She smiled.

"You don't get bored?"

She shook her head. "I have my rose garden that I take care of, I have a library, and I have dabbled in painting. I also tend to cook and bake a lot."

"You have a library?" Audrey asked.

"I do. You are more than welcome to come see it sometime." Juliet smiled.

"Thank you."

"So what is it that you two are studying?" She asked.

"Audrey's major is literature and mine is social work."

"You wish to be a social worker?"

"Yeah. I want to help children."

"What do you plan on doing with your degree?" Juliet asked Audrey.

"I'd really like to become a writer."

"Maybe I'll have your books in my library someday." Juliet smiled.

"Maybe." Audrey grinned.

Juliet had arrived with a tall and intimidating man. We later learned that his name was Stefano. He remained out of sight until we heard his phone ring.

"Bella, the boys on their way back." Stefano said.

"Alright."

"Vince said he can pick up Isabella on his way home, as well as dinner."

"He is leaving early today?" Juliet asked.

"Yes." He nodded.

"Okay then." She said before looking at us. "Will you two be alright until my sons return?"

"I think so." I grinned.

"Excellent. Well you have my number is you need anything at all or if my boys get to be too much. Call me anytime."

"Thanks for everything."

"No thanks necessary." She smiled.

She left with Stefano a few minutes later leaving just the two of us.

"She's very nice." Audrey smiled.

"Yeah, she is. I'm pretty sure I've heard the name Bianchi before."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I swear I remember someone mentioning something about a Vincenzo Bianchi or something."

"Maybe it'll come back to you."

"Maybe."

We were watching TV ten minutes later when the guys arrived.

"Hi." I smiled at Enzo.

He smiled back. "Hey."

"How did you two sleep?" Val asked.

"Very good." Audrey said.

"You two can stay here as long as you'd like."

"Really?" I asked.

"Yes."

"Could you possibly help us get some of our stuff? We need our school stuff and our clothes."

"We can go get your things whenever you want."

"No one is home between 4 and 5 o'clock in the evening."

"It's 3:30 now. We can eat and then go over to get your things."

"Sounds good." I smiled.

They took us to the nearby diner for dinner. We finished at exactly 4 and then headed over to the house.

We thought we were just going to go inside, grab our stuff, and leave.......

but it didn't work out that way. It didn't work out that way at all.
