The Different Types of Fear

In my experience, I find that there is two very distinct types of fear. The first one I like to call cold fear, and the second hot fear.

The notable characteristics of cold fear is clammy hands and wooziness. This can happen when one is in close proximity to a phobia they may have. For example, when I was little, I had a serious phobia of statues. I went to a museum with my family where there were just rooms upon rooms of statues. My hands grew clammy and I almost passed out from fear. This is cold fear, and is a very uncomfortable feeling.

The notable characteristics of hot fear is sweaty palms, a dripping forehead and watering eyes. This can happen when one is in a high-adrenaline situation, like on a rollercoaster, or a ropes course. Another characteristic includes weak knees. An example of when this happened to me was the first time I went on an upside down rollercoaster. My hands were so sweaty I could barely hold on to the bar, and my knees kept knocking together annoyingly. I was almost bawling from anticipation as well, which is a very embarrassing thing to do in the middle of an amusement park.

If there's anything I missed on these, please tell me. Also, if you think there are more types of fear that I missed, please comment that as well.

This concludes my analysis. Goodnight.
