Chapter 42: Jinhwan

We became friends and I got to know her
And know how beautiful she is inside and out

But I'm not stupid I knew that I had no chance with someone like her

But after we said goodbye 4 years ago
And she ran out of my car and into the airport
I couldn't stop thinking about her

I was so excited when I saw that beautiful girl again at Y/N's wedding
But she came back with some guy called Alex....

I snap back to reality again

Alice is running out of the room
I'm not making the same mistake again

I grab her arm

Alice: "LET G--Jinhwan?...."

Jinhwan: "Let's get you to the bathroom to get you cleaned up"

I say in a cold tone...I don't want Donghyuk or Y/N to get suspicious of me suddenly being sweet

She doesn't move out of shock so I pull her by the hand into the bathroom
I grab some tissues and wipe away her tears

Alice: "Jinhwan how are you? I haven't seen you in ages"

Jinhwan: "Good."

Alice: "J-just good?"

Jinhwan: "What happened back there?"

Alice: "I liked this guy called Alex but....seems like he likes Rosé better. People like me will never find love"

How can people NOT love her

Jinhwan: "People like what?"

Alice: "People who are hidden in their siblings shadow... I've accepted the fact that no one will love me"

I slam my hand against the wall behind her making her jump

Jinhwan: "You're really stupid aren't you?"

Alice: "Excuse me?"

Jinhwan: "I guess you've never noticed how perfect you are...the way your hair flows over your shoulder, the way you cover your cheeks when you blush and how your eyes crinkle when you grin"

She quickly looks down and blushes turning away from my burning gaze

I pull her face up to face me

Alice: "W-what?"

Jinhwan: "You don't know how perfect you are"

I smash my lips on to hers as she melts into my touch
We stay like that for a while till I pull away slowly

Alice: "J-Jinhwan--"

I put my finger to her lip

Jinhwan: "You don't need to say anything right now, lets just go support your sister"

She nods and starts walking back to the hospital room
I run after her and grab her hand
She entwines her fingers with mine as she smiles at me

Y/N POV
Jinhwan and Alice come back smiling widely
I raise my eyebrow at Jinhwan and smirk
He just shoots a dirty look at me

My smirk quickly disappears when Doctor Seo walks in

Doctor: "It's now or never"

Everyone rushes into the room and start yelling

Y/N: "CHAE WAKE UP PLEASE"

Eomma: "TTAL PLEASE WAKE UP"

Lisa: "YOU CANT LEAVE US YET"

Jennie: "Rosie please you aren't going through this alone PLEASE wake up"

I hold Minjun's hand as we see her open casket being lowered into the ground

I feel myself shaking as Minjun sobs next to me

It's an unavoidable thing in a person's life
But it doesn't mean it won't hurt
I look at her lifeless body one last time before turning and walking away
