Today he was returning to London and he couldn't wait to wrap his arms around his girlfriend. He hadn't seen her for an entire month, her and his son. that was his greatest care at the moment as he got off the plane at Heathrow.
He arrived home and greeted the guys finishing the house and his studio as he let himself in. He noticed Arthur sitting in front of the TV, but Kate wasn't anywhere around as he looked around. "DADDY!!" Arthur screamed out as he jumped from the couch and into Glen's arms as Glen wrapped his arm around his son and pulled him against his chest. "Hey, bud how have you been?" Glen asked him as he lifted him in his arms, and wrapping him against his chest. "Great Daddy, but I missed you," Arthur told him as he squeezed the life out of Glen and he couldn't help but chuckle and wrap his arms around his son. "I missed you too sweetheart. Where is mummy?" he asked him as he tried to catch a glimpse off of his girlfriend.
"She's upstairs, she's having dinner with Pippa tonight," Arthur informed him which was definitely news to him. Why hadn't she told him that she had plans with her friends tonight? He didn't mind her spending time with her friends, but he'd expected it just to be the three of them tonight. He hadn't heard about plans of her going out either, what was going on with her?
"Why don't you stay here, I'm going to see where your mum is," Glen told his son as he put him back in his earlier spot before going up the stairs. He found Kate in their room for a night out it seemed as she pulled on her shoes. "Where are you going?" Glen asked her, not being able to stop the obvious question from coming out as he watched her put on her shoes. "I'm having a girl's night," she told him as she pulled on her other shoe before looking up at him.
"I thought we'd spent the evening together?" he asked her with a hurt tone. Here he'd been looking forward to an evening with the three of them, having his arms around the two most important people in his life. Had she really forgotten that he was coming home tonight? Or was she eager to get rid of him? It didn't make sense since she'd asked him just over a month ago to move in. What the hell was going on with her. Normally he could read her eyes like an open book, but he couldn't even do that right now. He had a month with them but didn't want to spend it like this with her being distant and all. He didn't even know what he'd done wrong to deserve her distancing herself so much.
"yea I'm sorry but the girls were desperate to get together tonight," she told him in a tone as if she didn't care as she rose from her side of the bed before walking up to him.
"I made dinner before I got ready it just needs to be heated in the oven on 180° for half an hour," she informed him as she walked up to kiss his cheek and she was off leaving a stunned and more than little confused Glen behind as he heard the front door close downstairs.
Kate knew that she was being a bitch right now, but she couldn't help it. She'd been doubting her relationship with him for the last two weeks and if this was really the relationship she wanted. where she never saw her boyfriend? Maybe she should have given someone else a chance during those five years. Walking out of her house she headed for Pippa's five houses down. they weren't leaving till two hours from now but she wanted Glen to feel like she did most days when he was gone. Alone and almost forgotten in her own little corner of the world. as if she didn't matter to him, just an after thought in London with their son, nothing more.
And then there was the picture she'd gotten from an anonymous email address earlier that week. Glen kissing a girl backstage at one of their concerts and her blood was close to boiling. She started to wonder how much she needed to believe from anything he even said to her. If he was kissing fans left and right she doubted that he'd be faithful to her at all.
It was hard to treat him this way cause she truly loved him, the person that he was. But him being away and now to get a picture like that. it was like the last water dropple for her to explode. She wanted nothing more than to spend the evening with him and their son, but she couldn't allow herself to do it. She couldn't let Arthur loose his dad again. if she had to live with Glen in her house in order for her son. A cheating boyfriend whom she still loved for that matter, it hurt so much, she'd given him a second chance and he'd hurt her once again. But lately she felt more of an afterthought to him than anything else it was so hard to do when you loved that person a lot. Sure they had their difficulties with being apart so much which was the cause why she felt like an afterthought. But then the cheating had gotten to her and it was like a stab in the gut. She couldn't allow her heart to love him even more than it already did. He'd hurt her so much in the last week with that picture and when you were already feeling uncertain about something.
