Unexpected turn of events (the script, Glen Power fanfiction)

Chapter 22

"Hey, things will settle you know. You just got back together, give it time." Catherine told her as Kate gave her a grateful smile and nod of her head. "I know, all those years I never had anyone else." she started as she sat down beside Kate, Louis still in her arms as he took her pinky in his tiny hand.

"Not for the lack of trying on my part," Catherine added as she let out a small chuckle and Kate rolled her eyes at Catherine. Not certainly for the lack of trying on her part. "Maybe that was a mistake, maybe I should have given someone else a chance. I think I kept holding onto him. Wishing him to return you know and now that he is I don't know if it's what I want." she admitted as she dropped her head. she hated dropping this on her best friend just after giving birth.

"Don't mind me. I'm just being ridiculous." Kate told her with a wave of her hand in a dismissive manner. "Hey don't say that. it's important when you're feeling like this. But Glen just moved in I thought things were going great?" Catherine asked her as Kate nodded her head. "They are when we're actually together. But that's less than most," she told her with a shake of her head as Catherine couldn't really object to that. Glen had been more absent since they'd gotten together than not. She was already bugged when Will wasn't with her for a few days. She couldn't imagine what Kate must go through with weeks without the man she loved.

"Maybe you should talk about with Glen," Catherine suggested as Kate gave her a forced smile. "I can't cause then he'll feel bad about doing what he loves most," Kate told her as Catherine let out a knowing sigh. they turned to look at the five sitting on the couch as Louis started to fuss as she started to rock her godson in her arms which quieted him down a little.

"it's okay little one," Kate whispered in a high pitched manner as Will took the opportunity to take a few pictures of his sister and his newborn son. He wasn't too happy with what he'd overheard between Catherine and Kate. He wanted nothing but happiness for her and it didn't sound like she was happy at all. Maybe it was a sneaky manner as he sent the picture to Glen from Catherine's phone. Catherine was going to kill him for doing it. But he didn't care, his sister was happy when Glen was around so he knew they were right for together. but he didn't like that he left them to their own devices as much as he did, which in turn made her unhappy.

When Louis started to fuss again she handed him to Catherine as she said it was time for his feed again. Deciding to take the children home since they wouldn't leave to much later after Louis had been fed.

"You're the car is still at the front." Will reminded her as he tagged along to buckle his children in. "If they haven't parked it somewhere else," she told him with a chuckle as they arrived on the ground floor and headed for her car at the entrance. Together they left the entrance, Will gave a small wave before helping to buckle the kids in. "See you at home," she told him with a small smile as he kissed her cheek. "See you at home sis. Thanks again," he told her as she gave him a dismissive wave, before getting into her car and driving off.

"Hello?" Kate answered the phone over her car's system. "Hey love, saw you visited the new Prince." Glen's voice noted with a smile. "I did, Will asked me to bring the kids over," she explained as she looked at said kids in her back seat through the mirror.

"I watched you enter and leave. Kate also sends me a picture," he told her as she tilted her head to the side in thought. "How? I was sitting beside her the entire time," she told him with a tilt of her head as she tried to think of a moment she could have taken a picture. "Will," she grumbled, realising he must have taken the picture when she walked around with Louis in her arms.

She heard Glen laughing on the other line as she shook her head "How is the baby?" Glen wondered, he'd gotten a picture from Catherine's number with Kate walking around with a newborn baby in her arms. He couldn't help but want to envision her with their baby in her arms. He'd seen the pictures of her and Arthur. He'd watched the video of his birth and it had been amazing to see. It may not have been the same as if he'd been there but still to see his son getting born, it had been amazing. But he wanted another child with her, one where he could be with her throughout it all.
