Miriam's pov.
It has been several hours since the meeting at the North Pole. I am still angry about Zenaida being so recless. She is a god like entity, she should know about the dangers of the Harmonrobe onvergence!
Anyway right now all of us were in Azarath. More specificly - the Spirit Library. I used my magic to allow all of us enter Azarath without any problems. I was sitting in a comfortable chair with a stack of book on the neatly polished oakwood table and reading a book with ancient runes on different spells.
The others were quietly reading aswell with the only sound in this room being that someone either turns a page or goes to collect a new book.
For some reason I also had this feeling of dread in my stomach. Like something bad is going to happen. The previous mysterious woman that I met during my first wisit to Azarath was still missing. And right now all I wanted to do was to ask for her advise.
I can't afford to lose my people.
My family.
I want to doo everything in my power to keep them all safe.
Soon enough I realised that I need to search for more books. I took the already read stack of books from the table and proceded to place them where they were.
I managed to get to the back of the library in search of new books. I wasn't exactly looking where I was going and accidentaly bumped into someone quite roughly. The impact caused me to slam against a bookcase and several books fell out. I looked at the person that I bumped intonand saw that it was Jack.
"Sorry Jack." I mumbled as I started picking up the fallen books. He only nodded in return and also started reaching for the books.
"Miriam," Jack asked, to which I hummed in reply. "Why do you hate Zenaida so much?"
This caused me to stop in my tracks for a second. I then sighed.
"Jack, do you remember the first time we were asked to join the Guardians?" he nodded in reply. "Do younremember how I wasn't exactly thrilled about that idea aswell?"
"Okay, I see your point." Jack said with a small chuckle. "But why would you think that...."
He then quieted down as both of our gazes snapped to a book half open that had a peculiar yet beautiful drawing. That drawing was of (Y/n) Artemis and she seemed...happy. And in her arms was a small child. A newborn. On the bottom of the page was written 'I still love you, Lauga'.
Was Lauga the baby in the picture?
When I picked it up and stood up as well the book was snatched out of my hands. I turned to see the person who took it. It was Zenaida.
"That's not something you two should be looking at. We need to-"
"We just accidentaly knocked it out of the shelf. You don't have to get so defencive, Zenaida." Jack said. Zenaida's eyes widened in shock at this.
"Oh, sorry." she nervously replied and set the book back where it belongs. "Well I should be going now. Those books won't read by themselves, am I right?"
All I wanted to do was roll my eyes at her, but I resisted. The same feeling came back to my sthomach. Something wasn't right. Not only was Zenaida hiding something, but there was this dark aura coming from Azarath.
All of us then went back to studying. But then tragedy struck.
I looked out of the window and saw the sky darken.
"Guys! Something's wrong!!!" I yelled and dropped my books as I rushed out of the library and down the white marble stairs.
But what I saw horrified me.
There stood a giant red demon with large black horns and glowing yellow eyes.
Trigon.
And behind him I saw a little girl with dark hair dressed in an Azarathian robe standing near a temple's entrance. I saw as a woman then bowed her head to the demon. Then Trigon released some kind of spell in a form of wind gusts that turned the Azarathians to dust.
I wanted to fight the demon, but someone grabbed my arm and pulled me into a portal, and the last thing I saw was the woman taking off her hood, revealing long black hair as she too turned into dust and blown away.
(The end is near)
