III.

I had my chance thousands of years ago

But that is long past

I missed my shot when I threw you away

Now I see that you were the author of my fate

And so my future is gone with you

I lie awake and count the things that once were perfect

But I still couldn't seem to notice;

How you smiled at me when I didn't understand

The easiest of things

How your eyes shifted colour all the time

Like a little uneven white stripe
in the ocean

So calm and

Way too deep

They were blue green grey orange brown black yellow;

How we spent the night counting stars

How you were the most beautiful of them all

Your nose small and cute

Eyelids dyed with veins so blue

Your eyelashes dark and gorgeous

Lips red as roses

Cheeks flushed with laughter

How you danced like no one was there

Like you didn't care if anyone judged you

Your bearhugs that never seemed to end

And i wish they never had;

You wrote down your thoughts in your book

The book that only I was allowed to go near

Because they were too heavy to lift

So you left them on the paper alone with ink

I have never met anyone more stubborn

And i love that about you

You never give up on anything

You always fight the fight until it's all over;

Everything was

so perfect

From your head

To your toes

To your fingertips;

All your flaws and all your beautys

Your face but also your mind

An unshaped diamond

Who still couldn't help but shine;

How couldn't I see the way you looked at me

Just like I look at you now

I didn't understand that we were so perfect

That I was the one for you

And you were the only one for me

That you lifted me up

When no one else could

That we seeked each other's trust

And didn't care about anyone else's;

How we were made for each other

We fitted so good

We were the perfect partners in crime

Much like Bonnie and Clyde;

Why didn't I notice that

If I had noticed

You would still be here

And we would still be perfect

Why did I not notice?

I should have a long time ago.

Right?
