I've finally had my coffee, everyone has calmed down from their cringe fest, and I've settled in.

Then Micheal comes storming out of his office.

Of course.

"Everyone in the conference room! Now!"

I meet eyes with Jim, as we both stand at the same time.

"Here we go again." Jim says.

We take a seat and Micheal begins.

"Alright everyone, I have an an announcement. Since it is almost Christmas, we're going to have a giant party!"
Jim raises his eyebrows and nods in agreement.
Erin claps here hands, and yells, "Woo!"

I can almost FEEL Angela roll her eyes behind me.

"On what budget? $20?"

"Shut up booster seat, I'm not done yet. Anyways, it's going to last all night, and I'm paying for the whole thing."

"When is it?" Phyllis asks.

"Tomorrow."

"What?" Angela blurts. "Michael, the party planning committee cannot-"

"SHSHSHHH!" Michael waves his hands in the air. "It's starting tomorrow at 5. You can start planning now!"

"Will there be booze?" Meredith asks.

"Hell yes! This is going to be epic!"  Micheal confirms.

I hear Meredith behind me give someone a high five.

A monotone voice speaks up. "Michael we can't bring booze-"

"Toby, who invited you to this? How do you even know we're having these? Who tells you? Who tells Toby we're having meetings?"

Erin slowly raises her hand.

"Erin, really?"
"Sorry Micheal I just-" Micheal cuts Erin off.
"Toby get out."

Toby sighs and leaves, as me and Jim try not to laugh. I lean over an whisper to him.

"This has gone downhill really fast."
He nods and smiles.

"Anyways, you can bring your own food, so we can save money."

"Micheal, can I bring beet soup?" Dwight asks.
"Ew Dwight nobody wants your beets."
"Well said. The beets weren't even that good this year."

I raise my hand.
"Yes, (y/n)?"
"Are we going to have music?"

"Now that's a secret. All you know is that's there's booze, and that you have to bring your own food!"

Why is music out of all things a secret?

Meredith speaks up again. "And your own booze if you want to!"

"Absolutely!" Micheal says.

We finally get out of the conference room, and get back to our desks.
Jim follows me over to reception.

"Do you really wanna go to one of these parties?" Jim asks quietly.

"Yeah, I mean, it sounds fun."

Jim snickers. "Have you ever been to one of these? I think you might be a little bit crazy to want to stay here past 5."

I smile. "What could go wrong? C'mon stay with me? Please? For a few hours?"

He smiles back. "Fine, but no drinking!"

"What? Hey! No way! That's not fun!"

Jim rolls his eyes and smiles again.
"Alright alright, I can't stop you anyways. Let's have fun tomorrow (l/n)."

"Sounds like a plan!"

Jim nods, and walks back to his seat, and gets back to working.

At lunch, everyone is still talking about the party.

"I don't know how he expects us to get everything done by tomorrow! I mean, I had to stop all my work to start planning for this!" Angela complains.

"Hey Angela, I could help!" I offer.

"You? No. Absolutely not. Think again." Angela grabs her salad and storms out.

"Well, I guess helping is bad now a-days." Jim says, nudging my shoulder.

I laugh.

"Sorry sweetie, you know she's always like that," Phyllis says.

"Thanks Phillis. It's alright." I smile to her.

Micheal walks in and tries to listen in on the conversation.

"Whaaat? What are you guys talking about? The party? Oh man it's going to be a big hit! I might invite David Wallace!"

"Wait, what?! Micheal, we can't have booze then. We'll get in trouble." Jim says.

"Jim calm down I didn't invite him...yet..."

"He slowed down at the end of his sentence. Micheal you're lying. You didn't look Jim in the eyes." Dwight blurts.

"Dammit Dwight!" Micheal runs back to his office.

"Micheal!" Everyone says, disappointed.

Jim gets up to go talk to him, and I follow.

Micheal's phone is already ringing.

"Micheal you can't-"

"Hi Wallace! So, do you remember that Christmas party I was planning on having? Well, it's canceled. The budget was a bit short."

"Is this really what you called me for? Micheal I was in a meeting."

"Sorry bye!"

"Wai-"

Micheal hangs up, folds his hands and looks at us.

"Done. Problem solved."

"Alrighty then." Jim walks back out.

"(Y/n), do you still need something? I'm busy trying to plan the party."

"Isn't that the Party Planning Com-"

"I'm a very busy man now (l/n)-"

"Okay, bye Micheal."

And I walked back out, and went back to my desk.

For the rest of the day, everyone was talking about the party.

Party. Party. Party.

That's all.

Everyone was excited for it, all but Angela of course.

How bad could it be?
