Chapter 12||

James's POV
————

I woke up from Alex picking me up. I look up at him, puzzled. He notices that I'm awake and says "I'm taking you to our room, you will be staying here today. The alpha of the EasternSpring Pack just called, they're coming early." I know I'll be okay but the fact that the highest ranked members from my old pack is going to be here.

They all did awful things to me. I wonder if my brothers are going to be at the meeting to? After all, they are next in line to be alphas. I wonder what Alex wants to talk to them about? It may be about rouges but who knows? I think I'll ask. "Alex?" "Yes, love?" "What are you going to be talking about at the meeting?" I can see him hesitate to answer.

"Uh.. rouge attacks around our area. They have been getting worse." I nod. Doesn't surprise me. I've never encountered a rouge before since I've always kinda lived in a basement but I've heard that they are very dangerous. Rouges are werewolf's that are not apart of a pack. Although they sometimes roam and attack packs in 'gangs', they do not care about law and rules in general.

They are very ruthless creatures from what I know. But who am I to judge? There must be rouges out there that aren't like the others, the ones guilty of all of the pack attacks. I refuse to think that all rouges are bad. But I can't help fearing the thought of encountering one by myself.

He places me on our bed and kisses my cheek lovingly. "Be careful when talking to the alpha. He can be cruel to people if he's pissed off or in a bad mood." He nods "Don't worry, I will be alright." And kisses me on the head before someone mind links him. "I have to go now, they are here. Stay in here where you can be safe. I love you."

"I love you too."

He smiles and then exits the room. I hope the meeting goes well.

Alex's POV

I leave the room smiling. He finally said I love you. I really hope that the alpha of the EasternSpring Pack doesn't try to take James away from me and back to their abusive pack. I won't allow that to happen.

James is mine and he isn't apart of their pack anymore. He is my mate which makes him the Luna of my pack. He belongs to me and only me. I try to control my possessiveness around him because I don't want to drive him away from me but it's hard when there's people that hurt and probably raped my mate at my pack house!

I'm thinking that the alpha has raped or at least severely beaten James because when I first met James he smelt of that bastard. I'm glad that my rouge excuse worked on James because explaining what's actually going to happen to him isn't what I want to do.

He shouldn't know that I'm about to beat the crap out of those assholes. He may fear me and I do not want that at all. I want him to be able to trust me and feel safe around me. Once the meeting is over I think I may mark James tomorrow. Me and Dante have waited long enough and his wounds are extremely close to being completely healed.

His arm is a much newer injury but it is also almost completely healed due to the fact that James is a werewolf and that Kathleen gave him stitches. I think she may take out the stitches tomorrow morning.

I make my way outside and over to the back of the pack house where I see the alpha of the EasternSpring Pack along with his beats and a couple other members. I stand a couple of meters away from him and wait as my betas, Zack and Ryland walk over and stand at the sides of me. A couple of my packs warriors also accompany me.

I also have some of my warriors guarding me and James's room. Making sure he doesn't get out and no one gets in. I bring my attention back to Nick, the EasternSpring Pack's Alpha. (I'll just call him by his first name from now on because its easier.) he steps closer to me and starts to speak.

"I've noticed that someone from my pack has gone missing. And I'm guessing you have him. If you do you can have him, I don't want that weakling in my pack." I have to try my hardest not to let out a very dark growl that Dante is threatening to let out. "That weakling you're talking about is my mate. Do not disrespect him as he is this packs Luna and my mate." I reply in a stern slightly angered tone.

He smirks at me "Oh really? To me he is nothing." I and my betas growl at him. I've had enough of this guy....

We, my warriors and betas shift and get ready to fight. I'll kill him for what he has said.

James's POV
————

I watch what's going on outside and back away from the windows when I see them start to shift. Why are they shifting? I thought they were just talking. Are they going on a run? What's going on? I don't dare to look back at the windows, they could be fighting...

But I sure hope they aren't. I don't want anyone getting hurt, even if they did hurt me, I'd never want anyone else going through that pain.

I walk over to the right side of the room over to the bookshelves and pick a book to read and sit alongside the shelf. I wish he didn't lock me in here. If they are fighting I want to stop it or at least help in some way. I hate the idea of my mate getting hurt or any of the other pack members.

I don't know many of the pack members yet but they are still my responsibility as Luna of this pack, well, almost Luna of the pack. It's not quite official yet since I haven't been introduced to all of the pack members yet. I really hope they are just going on a run.

Yes. They are just going on a run. Keep telling yourself that.

But hey, Alex said they would just be talking, he wouldn't lie to me. I think. If he did lie he better have a good reason to. It's not that I would be mad at him though, I can't find myself being mad at Alex. I trust him with my life.

I look down at the book I have picked out and start reading.
