In the dark world around me

There was a star I saw

It gave me light that night

My loneliness withered away

As I had that star

My smile widened each time

By the thought of a friend

My lonely self was no longer alone

I had you

I questioned who you were

And why my curiosity lingered

It didn't feel right to me

To keep you dear

You were out of my reach

Something that was unlike me

A star high above

For me to admire but never touch
