Mai got married young to her first love it was a small town and after high school she followed her now husband to california so he could pursue his dreams and build his career, she was his biggest cheerleader. After Louis graduated college they got married then shortly after they bought their first plot of land where they built their first home together. It was everything she ever dreamed of, a big house with a chimney for cozy cuddling on the couch in the winter. The yard was beautiful with fluffy green grass and rose bushes lining the front of the house with a brick walkway leading up to the charming wooden front door. Around the back there was a lush and blooming garden and a modest sized pool that wasn't used very often. Mai dreamed of her first home with her husband for years before they were married so when the time came she had everything planned out, she is the type that knows what she wants and she will get it. She wanted a big family , 4 kids , 2 boys and 2 girls ,and Louis just wanted to make her happy.

   Mai wanted to surprise Louis so she left work early and planned to make him his favorite meal and light some candles to set the scene but that wasn't the only surprise she had in store , she found out she was finally pregnant and couldn't wait to share the news with her husband.

Mai and Louis have been trying for a baby for almost 3 years now with no luck and it's really been taking its toll on the relationship. Louis hasn't been acting like himself lately. He was very distant. But she hoped this news would fix the growing tension between them.

She pulled into the drive way of their house and noticed an unfamiliar blue car parked in the driveway .She didn't know anyone was coming over , and not that it mattered but all their friends drove very expensive luxury cars. her intuition was telling her that something wasn't right and her heart sunk to the bottom of her chest. there is no way what she was thinking could be true.

She put her car in reverse and backed out of the drive way to park the car down the street instead of parking in the garage like she normally did , she didn't want to be noticed. Mai wanted to believe her husband would never hurt her and that he loved her but things weren't great between them lately. She was hoping her thoughts were wrong and maybe it's just the pregnancy hormones. She hated feeling this way and the thoughts have been sneaking their way into her head more and more. Now with this strange car in the driveway she can't just push the thoughts away it's right in front of her if she doesn't go in there to see for herself she would never be able to rest.

Praying the thoughts racing through her mind weren't true she quietly walked to the front door, and slowly opened it ,careful as to not make any obviously loud sounds.

She took off her heels and set them aside and began lightly walking up the stairs and down the hall to the bedroom. When she got closer to the door she began hearing faint sounds and as she got closer it was clear ... it was a women moaning.

She waited at the door for a moment thinking about what to do. the thought crossed her mind that she should just walk away and act like she never heard anything because once she opens the door she knew everything would change and she wasn't ready for that but soon the anger grew and the thought faded away as she swung the door wide open.

Louis's head quickly springs up from behind the naked woman he was so clearly having sex with sees Mai who was standing at the threshold infuriated, even though she was visibly angry he could see it in her eyes she is devastatingly hurt.
"Why did I do this? What am I even doing?  I'm married and I love my wife. Did I think I could hide this forever? I am so fucked.." Thoughts were flooding his brain he realized the weight of his dumb decisions only after he had been caught.

She wanted to yell at him and make him feel the pain she felt in this moment but with all the things she could say she stayed silent waiting for him to say something but there was nothing... not even a "This isn't what it looks like, It doesn't mean anything" nothing , Her eyes began to well up and a single tear broke free.

Without thinking she turns and runs out of the house. Louis, quickly scrambled for his robe and ran after her, but he was to late. Mai was already in her car and didn't have a destination she just drove and drove and drove. She had no family in california all she had was Louis and he just threw everything away .

Honestly Mai didn't know what she wanted to do. She loved him so much and couldn't bare the thought of living her life without him. he was her first for everything. after crying for what seemed like forever Mai managed to gather her thoughts enough to know she didn't want to act impulsively on her feelings of anger and sadness.

She made the conscious decision to let things cool down for a few weeks and ignore his calls until she can make up her mind if she wants a divorce or not. she invested so much time and enjoyed her life style with Louis and still loved him, she wished there was just a switch that could just turn it all off.

Mai wasn't just thinking about her she was thinking about her baby. The last thing she wants for her baby is for it to grow up without a father. She knows how hard it can be and she doesn't want that burden for her baby.

I KNOW THIS CHAPTER IS SHORT BUT I NEEDED A PLACE TO START AND INTRODUCE THE CHARACTERS. THINGS WILL START TO GET REALLY GOOD IN THE NEXT CHAPTER !!! I HOPE YOU ENJOY THE STORY 🖤
