She would feed, and feel the softness of her mother's fur, brushing up against her face
She would know of danger if her mothers fur was to ever stand on end.
She would hear the night wind
She would fear the rustling of nearby leaves.
She would stay close to her mother and many siblings
She would feel a strange, new sense of emotion for the first time in her life
She would feel calm.
She would wake up, after many weeks, from a long, yet peaceful darkness.
She would recognize that familiar scent, one of many, the runt.
She would follow the scent, only to find herself lost, in front of a particularly large sphere of leaves.
She would cry out, hearing her mother's paws tread closely behind her.
She would watch curiously, yet cautiously, as her mother looked around and sniffed at the ground.
She would jump ever so slightly as she watched her mother pounce at the large leafy sphere.
She would notice the silhouette of another, not in her pack.
She would see her brother hit the ground, following the impact a very faint sound, as if a few pebbles had hit the ground along with him
She would begin examine him, finding not pebbles, but a soulless body.
She would be swept up by her mother
She would sense the fear buried deep within her.
