Unexpected turn of events (the script, Glen Power fanfiction)

Chapter 21

She looked past his shoulder when she heard a wolf whistle. "fuck off." she called out to Danny who was laughing behind Glen. "Did you talk to the Queen with that mouth?" He wondered as she flashed him a grin. "Jeez if you knew what I did with my mouth," she told him in a cheeky manner as she felt Glen drop his head on her shoulder with a burst of laughter as he noticed the stunned face on Danny. He hadn't anticipated a comeback like that and it showed in everyone else's face. "I'm going to change out of this dress," she told them as she kissed Glen's lips again before dashing up the stairs and changing in jeans and T-shirt.

"So much better." She told Glen as she wrapped her arm around his back, resting her cheek between his shoulder blades. "How are things coming along?" she asked him as she moved to cuddle in his side. "we've finished moving all the boxes. Now it's just unpacking." he told her as she nodded her head. "And your music installation?" she asked him as she stuck her thumb in the loop of his jeans.

"in the shed for now. The builders came afternoon and they're going to start tomorrow," he told her as Kate nodded her head. "I'll let everyone know to stay away from here." She told him as he gave her a confused look.

"They don't mind meeting your family. I've been told today several times that since I'm a part of their family and you're now my boyfriend, they'll get to know your family as they would if I'd been an official member," she explained as he nodded his head a bit stunned and certainly when he knew she'd met the Queen today.

"But they are private people, you know that. The Po's won't be very happy to bring them here if there are so many people here. They were already grumpy about this morning." Kate explained as he nodded his head in understanding. "Hadn't thought of it that way." He told her as she tilted her head to the side with a small sigh.

"Oh and for the birthday party of Arthur." she started as Glen nodded his head to continue. They didn't know what to do. Glen respected the tradition that Kate had built up over the years with Arthur and loved that they had such a family here. Even if they weren't what he had expected. But he wanted to spend his son's birthday with his family. "Kate told me to tell you to invite them over. They can stay in York Cottage on the Sandringham Estate that way they don't have to get a hotel or something." She explained as he tilted his head in a stunning manner.

"I told you, Love. They really are my family in every sense but blood and title. They really want to make this work and make it easy for us. that means accepting your family like they have gotten to know and accept every family of a member that has married into the family." Kate explained as she cupped his cheek in her hand and he nodded his head. "I'll tell them," he told her as she gave him a kiss on the lips. "I'm going to pick Arthur and George up from school and drop George off at KP. I'll pick up the groceries and start dinner for everyone then," she told him as he grinned down at her. "I love you, sweetheart," Glen whispered to her, no matter how over the top things had gotten with her since last meeting her. She was still the same person at the core and he loved her for it. He was happy that his family finally got to meet the amazing person he'd fallen for so hard.

He loved her so much it was hard sometimes to be apart from her for so long. they made it work but it was hard, especially when her 30th birthday was next week and he couldn't be a part of it. Catherine had reassured him that the surprise party for her birthday would be next year. A cause she was heavily pregnant and wanted to enjoy her best friend's birthday party. And B she would never expect them to throw a surprise party the year after her 30th. Glen couldn't help but agree with that. Right now she'd made them swear not to make a fuss of the milestone and such. Next year would be different and he thought it was genius. After going around with everyone in her house, his family which was mostly staying over at her place or Glen's old apartment and his friends to ask if they needed something from the store she left.
