She stood there on the edge, threatening to jump off it, if he didn't come. She knew no bounds when it came to him, and no one was unaware of it. Her eyes searched for him in the crowd but he was nowhere to be seen. Would he care if she died? Would he even come to see her dead body? Such thoughts started wandering in her mind and she couldn't help but feel a dark pit forming in her stomach. She felt like throwing up, and that feeling sucked. Past six months were one hell of a time for her. As much as she tried hiding it, she ended up drowning in depression even more. Everyday, she would resist the feeling to cut and every night, she would end up crying herself to sleep.
Night was the issue, it made her think of several thousand things each time it showed. Night had that power which would break her down, no matter how strong she had been during the day. The empty feeling in her heart would increase multiple times at night. Sleeping alone in bed had become out of habit. Seeing him beside her each night, showering her with goodnight kisses and asking his share of it was like a routine. She missed the time when their sweet goodnight kisses turned into those heated make out sessions, the way he teased her by nibbling on her earlobes or biting her on the sensitive spot of her nape. She missed everything. Nights. Nights were bad.
He didn't care, did he? Wouldn't he have showed up if he did? He was without her for past six months, he didn't let her know that he was somewhere nearby. He didn't care then, why would he care now? She accidentally happened to see him, or she would never know that he was alive. She hugged him in longing, and he refused to even recognize her. He stood in front of her with another woman calling her his wife, and that little girl, how could she be his daughter? He was Laksh. He was married to her, he loved her. When they got married, it was hard for her to think he would ever fall in love with her. He didn't. But she tried and finally when she gave up, he told her he loved her. She was on the death bed and he sneaked into her room to take care of her. Her father slapped him multiple times when he confessed his love after that night. But he didn't budge, he still kept repeating that he loved her. He cared then, why didn't he care now? Did he not love her now? Was that it? Maybe she was not worthy of love. Anyone who loved her, left her. Yes that could be the reason. Maybe she just didn't deserve love. Her mother died, her father had to take her responsibility because she was his daughter from that loveless marriage. Her stepmother and stepsister, they loved her but wasn't it conditional? They loved her till their needs were fulfilled. Even she couldn't say she loved them unconditionally. Maybe now she did, but she can't forget how the monster in her almost ruined their lives. And now Laksh. Laksh loved her, and now he left her too. That's exactly what the truth was, she didn't deserve to be loved.
