"What?!", I shout.
"Like I said before it'll help you gain experience so that you can become a remarkable queen.", he says.
"But I don't want to go! I don't know a thing about the human world and I'm not even interested in them!"
"That's why you're going to learn about them and understand their way of living.", he lookes at me serious in the eye while saying this.
'He' is the Sun King, the ruler of Heaven. He rules at the days, when the sun shines. Cause at nights, the Queen of the Moon gives the orders. The Queen of the Moon stands next to the Sun King and together they rule the world. That Queen is gonna be me. But only when I reach the age of 20. Until then I have to study.
I look down at my hands. I guess becoming the queen has many challenges. I only hope that the humans aren't that trashy like I know from children books.
"Fine.", I say with a sigh and walk away from the throne room.
"Luna.", I hear him say and I turn to him to meet his tired gaze.
"You know I want the best for you. It might not seem that way right now, but..."
He sighs. That's the sign that he is thinking about her.
"I dont want what happened to be repeated".
I smile to him to reassure him.
"I know.", I say and look at his face.
The face I have known my whole. The face I saw when I made my first steps as a toddler, when I spoke my first words, when I made my first spell.
The face that scolded me everytime I made trouble at the palace, when I snuck out, when I stole lemon cakes from the kitchen, when I pranked my teachers with my magic.
The face of my father.
I feel the tears in my eyes.
Growing up without a mother, he always tried to play that role alongside the roles of my dad and the king. He made sure I had everything, that I was raised with love.
Even being in his fifties, he shines more than anyone I have ever seen. His golden hair, now surrounded by strands of white, still captivates me. His beautiful blue eyes, reminds me of the sky, the place where he belongs to. His brown skin makes him still look tough even after all of these years. The wrinkles under his eyes are proof of the things he has experienced in his life, all the difficulties he had to go through.
My father. I not only admire him and respect him. I also respect his decisions. If he says that going to the human world will help me, then I have to do it.
"Father..."
Now the tears naturally flow down.
He looks at me like he is about to cry too. But that's not right. Nobody should see the Sun King's moment of weakness. Not even his daughter.
I turn my back to him and walk away.
"Don't worry. I'm willing to go tomorrow."
I say this and leave the throne room halfhearted.
The moment I step into my bedroom, I throw myself on my bed. The tears continue to fall down.
Tomorrow. Tomorrow is gonna be the day of my new life with the humans. Tomorrow is gonna be the day everything is gonna change.
