Every free period Elle had, she met up with Caleb. She usually had them about twice a week, three if she was lucky.

It all started about two months after their first meeting. It was late at night, and Caleb had asked Elle to meet him by the big apple tree outside the mechanical warehouse.

"Hey Caleb." Said Elle, sitting next to him on the rustic wooden bench facing the countryside, the Amity fields just visible in the silver light,

"Elle, I've been meaning to tell you this for a while...you see..." He let out a long sigh.

"See what?" Elle asked.

"I think I'm in love with you." He whispered.

"I know I'm in love with you." She whispered back.

And before she knew it, Elle's lips were locked with Caleb's. And all they could do was wish that the moment wouldn't end.

After that, they met up everyday. Same place, same time.

It was mostly Caleb who shared stories of his previous faction, until one summer evening.

"So what was Amity like? I've always pictured it as somewhere impossible to leave." Caleb stretched and rested his arm around Elle.

"Well, it wasn't really like that when I was there."

"No?"

"No."

"And why was that?" He asked.

"I'm not supposed to tell anyone..."

"You can tell me," Caleb smiled. "I won't tell."

So Elle told him everything. And then they stayed, watching the stars, waiting for something.
