Athena's eye fluttered open, squinting slightly as she tried to adjust to the warm daylight peering into her room. The sheer curtains allowed the sun to shine through, waking her up.

She stood up, the warmth of the sun against the carpet between her toes as she reached for a hair elastic, throwing her hair up before going downstairs, not even bothering to get dressed first. Who wants to get dressed right after they wake up?

She jogged down the stairs and into the kitchen, and was caught by surprise when she saw the familiar boy standing at the island, mixing something in a bowl.

"What are you up to, Beaumont? Figured you'd still be sleeping," she noted, walking over to him, resting her elbow on the side of the island to look at the contents of the bowl.

"Figured I'd make breakfast for our first morning all together," he shrugged, "attempting to make pancakes."

"Wonder how that's gonna go for you," Athena chuckled, walking over to the fridge to grab juice before sitting down and watching Rye stir what was in the bowl.

She had to try and stop herself from staring at him, her eyes glancing over every inch of his body, sending her thoughts spiraling.

Why does he do this to me? She thought to herself, I try so hard to stop wanting him and when I see him my emotions become even stronger than before.

She was broken out of her thoughts by the twins bounding down the stairs, giggles escaping their lips as they ran into the living room, their laughs and screams still echoing.

"Where are our parents by the way?" Athena asked the boy standing in front of her after realizing she hadn't seen them yet.

"I actually don't know," he confessed, "they were already gone when I woke up, mum's car is gone."

"Guess they'll miss out on these amazing pancakes," she smirked before getting up to go see the twins.

She tackled them onto the couch, making them screech, which only made Athena laugh harder. They tried pushing her off, but she held on too tight, her body flailing around as the three of them fought playfully on the sofa.

Rye chuckled to himself as the loud laughs of the three of them echoed throughout the summer house, making him feel nostalgic of the past year they all spent together.

"You guys have so much energy," Athena sighed, sitting back on the couch and wrapping her arms around the boys and pulling them close, ruffling their hair with each hand, making them groan.

"We're just fun," Shaun commented, tickling Athena's side briefly.

She sighed playfully as she got back up, jogging into the kitchen again to see the boy she missed way too much. He was like a magnet, everywhere he was, she wanted to be.

"So Beaumont," she started as she sat back down, popping a grape into her mouth that she found in the bowl in front of her, "what have you been up to since we've last seen each other?"

"I mean I joined a band which you already knew, basically I've just been making music, touring a little, stuff like that," he shrugged as he was finishing making the pancakes.

"Just casually," Athena laughed at his crazy new lifestyle, "I always knew you were gonna make it, you've always had a beautiful voice, even if you were too scared to show it sometimes."

"You helped me get over that," he smiled, pushing a plate of food over to her and taking his own seat across from her.

Athena remembered all the times when they were growing up that she would ask him to sing to her, wanting to hear his melodic voice. He was always self-conscious, but once she found out he could sing well, Athena wouldn't leave him alone about it. She encouraged him to keep singing, and to show people his talents, and that is what led him to where he was today.

She smiled to herself as she felt a sense of pride fill her, knowing how far he had come since then.

"What are you smiling about?" he asked, and she felt a blush creep on her cheeks when she noticed the boy staring at her. The smallest look from the boy made her melt.

"Nothing," she shrugged, "just proud of you."

"You should meet the boys," he suggested, "maybe they can come down for a bit this summer."

"That would be awesome," Athena nodded with a mouth full of food, causing Rye to laugh at the muffled sounds coming from her mouth.

"What should we do today?" Athena asked over her shoulder when she heard the light footsteps of the twins enter the room.

"Beach and ice cream!" Sammy exclaimed quickly.

"Sounds like a plan to me," she replied, glancing over at Rye for confirmation, to which she received a nod.

Athena held her towel tightly to her body as she went downstairs, feeling self conscious of the new bathing suit she had bought before the trip.

She noticed the boys already waiting outside at the bottom of the stairs, waiting patiently for her.

"Sorry I took so long!" she apologized as she shut the door behind her, joining them.

"No worries, let's go!" Rye cheered as he pushed the twins in the direction of the water, causing them to sprint towards it, throwing themselves in without even checking the temperature.

"What about you? Gonna go swimming with your towel?" Rye asked sarcastically, motioning to her position at the moment.

"Maybe I'll just stay out and tan," she shrugged, not moving the towel.

"Oh come on, A, you? Since when do you not swim you love it," Rye said.

"I just don't like my bathing suit," she confessed honestly after a while, feeling embarrassed saying that in front of the boy she loved.

"We don't care," he told her simply, "if you don't come in I'll throw you in."

"You wouldn't do it," she challenged, narrowing her eyes at him.

"I would," he smirked, throwing the towel away quickly before throwing her over his shoulder, running towards the water as she began screeching and flailing, hitting his back.

She knew this moment was cliche, but she couldn't help but laugh anyway as she tried to resist, knowing her impeding doom in this moment.

The water hit her like a shock, her body tensing up before swimming up to the top, gasping loudly as she splashed Rye.

"Asshole," she joked, rubbing the water from her eyes and pushing her hair out of her face.

Rye's eyes scanned her body quickly, taking in how much she had grown up since he last saw her, how she was more curvy, looking much older than she did. He forced himself to pry his eyes away, this was his best friend. He can't look at her like this, even though he found she had a beautiful figure.

"You're gonna pay for that," she deadpanned before running towards him, wrapping her arms around his toned body in attempt to throw him into the water.

"You're on."
