Chapter Three- Something Within

I came to a hall that connected to a room where I saw Steve and Bucky. "Steve,Bucky? Guys!" I wanted to cry. I missed them so much. "Ruby!" Steve yelled excitedly as they both ran up to me. Steve hugged me like he was protecting me and Bucky looked relieved. "What happened to you knuckles?" Bucky asked as he grabbed my hand. " I was punching glass to escape." I replied seeing they were bruising and still bleeding. "Don't worry you are safe now, we will tend for them on our way home." Steve ensured and I smiled. Steve starts to talk into his head set. "We got her." I knew he was being sure my dad knew. "Steve this is important. Can you get me to the fight?" I asked. "Why?" He looked at me suspiciously. "Loki doesn't want to hurt anyone, anymore anyway, and I'm afraid Dad might kill him, not on purpose." I explain. "I can't let that happen, even after this." I say. Steve and Bucky look at each other. "Don't tell me you love him." Bucky groans. "No! I don't, but he is broken and he is jealous. He just need Thor to understand that but he doesn't. I did now Loki doesn't want me to suffer but to stay." I ensure. There is a pause, " Fine." Steve says. "But if you get put into any danger you have to leave." I nod. They guide me over to where everyone is fighting and I see Loki about to get completely blasted by my dad. "Dad stop!" I yell. He looks over in pain then gets ready to blast. I feel pain and an energy boil up through my blood. " I said STOP!" I scream making some sort of energy blast eject from my body causing everyone in the way to fall. I look around surprised. "Ruby," Steve starts. I flinch away from him. Everyone was looking at me and I hear Loki say, "The protection spell." In shock. "What the heck did you do to her Loki?" My Dad asks in anger. "I didn't know this would happen" he mumbled. "What did you do?" Dad yells. "I wanted her safe." He starts, "so while she was asleep I put a protection spell I found in one of my mother's old books." I looked at my hands in fear then fell on my knees. The power made me feel pain and I wanted to cry. Bucky starts to pick me up but my skin shocks him. "Bucky I'm sorry." I cry "I don't know what is happening or how I am doing this." He looks at me. "Don't worry it's fine, just stand up and stay calm." He whispers. "Fight the pain." I shake as I stand up and he brings me to the jet. "Avengers, time to go." Steve commands. "Not till I'm done with-." Dad starts. "Tony, you're done." Steve snaps and he nods towards me. My dad and the others start walking back. "I'm going to stay here." Thor replies. "This is my kingdom." We wave and the jet heads back home. The ride was silent and I kept looking at my hands, afraid of my own power. I decided I had to say something. "I'm sorry." I murmured. Everyone looked at me confused. "Ruby you didn't do anything. I should be saying I'm sorry, I let this happen." dad said. " It's not your fault. I didn't fight hard enough, I let my emotions take over, I, I." I felt the anxiety start to hit. "I fought you." I cried. Both my dad and Natasha knew that I was about to have an attack and rushed over. "Shhhhhh don't worry everything is ok now. We are going to go home and everything will be normal again." Dad ensured. "I won't let anyone harm you again." My head was on his shoulder and his arms were around me. I could tell Natasha felt pain seeing me like this. She walked over to Clint and they started mumbling. I wanted to hold back the tears but they started dripping out. I could tell the others didn't know what to say
