In a cottage placed in a village in England lived a family of three, a red-haired woman with bright green eyes, her husband a dark-haired man with brown eyes and glasses, and their fifteen months old son. The little boy had a mop of raven black hair and green eyes, the same shade of green that belonged to an unforgivable curse.

This faithful night would be horrible and go down in history. A night when people all over the country would be celebrating, without knowing that it was all a lie.

"Lily, he is here! Take Harry and go!" The man shouted to his wife, Lily, when he felt the wards around the cottage break.

Lily took their son upstairs just as the door was forced open with magic, and in came a tall man dressed in black robes. Soon the husband met his doom when one of the black-dressed mans followers fired off the unforgivable curse. The black-dressed men continued into the house, stepping over the husband's body.

On the second floor sat Lily, facing the crib in which her son lied without a care in the world. She told him that she loved him, that his father loved him and that nothing could change that. The black-dressed man slowly made it into the nursery, some of his followers behind him. Lily turned her head and looked right in to a pair of dark brown eyes. "Move aside girl." the brown-eyed man said calmly. "No! Never!" Lily answered with a bite in her voice. "A pureblood like you should have joined me a long time ago." the man said calmly, containing his anger. "Not everything is about blood." Lily countered. "His magic core is dark." A woman with black curly hair said fascinated, looking down at the boy. "You don't know that. The magic doesn't show at such young age." Another man whispered through his teeth. The woman looked pointedly at her brother-in-law then rolled her eyes.

The tall brown-eyed man took a threatening step towards Lily. "That was the final warning. Carrow." The said man took a step forward and pointed his wand at the woman in front of the crib. "I just want you to know that I killed him. I killed James." Carrow said smiling like a madman. Lily looked at the man with eyes full of hatred. Then Carrow cast the curse, the same curse that had killed her husband minutes earlier. "Avada Kedavra!"

Just as she fell lifeless to the floor, another man appeared out of thin air with a loud pop. The tall brown-eyed man, who seemed to be the leader, looked at him waiting for him to speak up. "It was fake." The others looked at him in pure confusion "The prophecy, it was fake." He explained. They looked at him in shock. The first man turned to the little pureblood boy in the crib, and the boy looked right back at him, bearing a wide smile on his baby face, beaming with joy at the tall man in front of him. "Tom?" The man who had told them the news said carefully. Upon hearing his name, the tall man snapped out of it. He walked up to the boy, whispering sorry as he pointed his wand at the boy in the crib and gave him a scar in the shape of a lightning bolt. A scar that only he could heal. "I will come and find you. Just you wait a little." He turned around and looked at his followers "It's time to go." Before they apparated away he muttered. "Let the game begin, old man." Then Tom disappeared, and just in time, for not a moment later a man with a weird pointed hat and a big beard appeared in to the house. And what the old man found broke his heart. Two incredible wizards that had followed him and supported all of his decisions. As he walked into the nursery he was pleased to find the boy alive.

The boy was crying, and the old man saw the weird shaped scar on the boys forehead, that only could mean one thing. The prophecy was real after all.

Said man picked the boy up and apparated away. What he didn't know was that someone was watching, and followed as the man apparated to a quiet street in Little Whinging, Surrey. He walked down the street of Privet Drive until he stood in front of number 4. He looked around and laid eyes on a cat, of course he should have known better then to expect that she would stay in the castle. "Hello Minerva." he said with a grandfatherly smile, the cat took a step forward and transformed into a witch dressed in a rich emerald dress with a matching pointed hat and rectangular glasses. "Dumbledore." She said with a nod and looked at the bundle in his arms. "You don't mean to leave him here, do you?". 'Of course she won't trust my judgement' Dumbledore thought. "It's his only family." he answered. "That doesn't matter! They are the worst kind of muggles!" She said in a stern voice. "But Minerva dear, you know that Petunia is a squib, she knows what to do when it's time for him to go to Hogwarts, it's fine. And if he were to grow up in the wizarding world, the fame would go to his head. This is the safest place for him." Minerva didn't look convinced but knew he was right, the fame would go to the poor boys head if he were to grow up in the wizarding world, so she let it go. Dumbledore left the boy on the doorstep to Privet Drive 4, and he left an envelope with the boy. He then turned around and left Little Whinging together with Minerva to celebrate that the Dark Lord was dead at last.

Behind a house further down the street stood a man in the shadows. He watched as the old man left the boy on the doorstep and how he turned around and apparated away together with the witch. As soon as they were gone the man merged out of the shadows and walked up to the house. He bent down and picked up the little boy that was now sound asleep. He noticed the envelope and carefully put it in his pocket to keep it secure. Then he apparated away to his own manor not to be seen again for at least thirteen years.

The following morning when a blonde horse-faced woman, also known as Mrs Dursley, walked out on the porch she didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Nothing strange happened that could have shaken her or her family's perfect life. Her husband, a big purple-faced man the size of a walrus went to work and came home in the evening. They had a nice dinner and they took care of their little son who according to them was the most beautiful boy in the world. They lived a happy life.

But little did they know that one day that would change.
