Morning Rain ☂

She sat on the steps,  feeling the rain, smelling the faint crispness of dawn. The sun had started to rise and the weather was cool and full of a soft rain that touched everything. She had just thought of how chilly the morning had begun when she felt a warm blanket being draped around her shoulders. “Good morning my love” spoke a voice from just behind her.  She could feel the warm breath of the words on her neck and smelt the faint scent of her lover and she was gently greeted with a series of kisses down her neck. “Looks like someone is in a good mood” she said with a smile as she turned to the woman who was her world, was her everything. The long arms of her  lover wrapped all around her,  giving warmth and a feeling of security. She sat, reveling in the feeling she got from being held by this beautiful creature she was lucky enough to call her wife. “I love you, more than you know” It was spoken softly, but with so much emotion behind it that when she looked up from the woman's embrace the tears welling up made her eyes shine. There was joy and contentment,  there was pain and relief. This beautiful woman was hers, to have and to hold, for better or worse, and for all the time they had, for eternity. Her lover looked down at the tears and worry creased her face, “What is it? “ She spoke quietly, searching the eyes of the one she held so close. “I am just so very happy to have you my love” The worry ran from her lover's face as she spoke,  replaced by a smile so bright it rivaled the sun. She leaned into her lover's lips and shared the smile on them, softly smiling her own joyous smile into the one she loved so dearly.
