Prologue

"Max get out of the way!" I screamed as I shoved him into the wall trying to get my book bag. Max is my older brother. My annoying older brother.

"Don't get your titties in a twist."

"Maxwell, watch it." Mum said for the 50th time. Frustrated, she stated,"I know you two are siblings but if you could just get along for once..."

"If you had a brother like him you would understand!" I yelled, interrupting my mother's thoughts.

"Just get in the car." Mum said.

I live in California with my Mom, Brother and Dad, but Dad's always gone because he's a pilot. If he were here he would tell us to listen to our mother like he always does, but he's gone this time for 2 weeks.In the meantime, i'm going on a trip in 3 days with my music class to Europe which is going to be the trip of my life. I've never been anywhere before so this is a really exciting opportunity in my opinion, but not as much for Cassie, my best friend, because her parents are rich and she gets to go anywhere she wants. I'm not that lucky. The only reason why she's actually excited is because i'm going too, so it will be different than the other 6 trips she takes with her family every year.

"Turn that shit off, it's breaking my ears." My brother said, switching the radio to a different station, playing some sort of crazy rap music that he knows I don't like. My brother and I will never like each other. People keep telling me that when we are older that we will be best friends and we will be closer than we are now, that we are just teenagers and that's why we hate each other so much. It may be the case for them, but I despise my brother, and he despises me. It will never change.

I arrive at school with my navy blue champion backpack hanging over my left shoulder, which I know is not good for my back but I do it anyways, and my dirty blonde hair up in a ponytail.

"Tess! Tess!"

It was Cassie running down the stairs in front of our school with a paper in her hand.

"What?"

" I got a 63% on my history test!" She screamed with excitement, holding her paper as close to my face as possible. She doesn't do very well in school, as you can probably tell by the fact that she's screaming about a 63%, which is probably her highest note ever. That's probably the only thing that we don't have in common, my lowest note  is 86%. But as I said, we have almost everything else in common. We are both very popular at our school, Waterford Senior High, and both are on the cheerleading team. We like the same singers, we have pretty much the same clothing style, etc.

" Good job!" I said, giving her a hug, while Max rolled his eyes at us. 

" The school trip is in 3 days Tess! We are going to have so much fun! We will meet cute guys, we will go shopping, we will see so many cool things!" Cassie said while making our way to our lockers.

" And we can learn so much history about Europe too!" I smilled.

" Yeah yeah that's boring. I'm just excited to go on a trip with you, it sounds so exciting."

We walked together to first period, english class, while talking about our plans for our upcomming vacation.
