Ūgresh | (oo-GRREHSH)
- a native may be called an Ūgreshai (oo-GRREH-shahy)
Kingdom in the north, ruled by Queen Kullouri. The land consists mostly of vast mountain ranges, difficult to travel through for non-native persons unaccustomed to the climate and creatures that dwell within. It is known for its experts in steel trade and metal-making, often the producers of the highest caliber of weaponry.

ay'arnt | (ey-AHRNT)
1.) means "striking fire" in the ancient language.
2.) in traditional Eleynian swordsmanship, this is the second Sun maneuver, a direct and brutal cut to the finish.

ay'ar náti | (ey-ahr-NAH-tee)
1.) means "dancing fire" in the ancient language.
2.) in traditional Eleynian swordsmanship, this is the proper return to defend against the ay'arnt, the second Sun maneuver.

ay'oṃ | (ey-OHM)
The ancient word meaning "surrender", literally translated as "no fire".

Caldenor | (kahl-deh-nor)
The region of Eleynia which shares borders with Ūgresh in the north. It contains a hidden training village known as Gaeris, and it is also home to the Spine Mountains which house a large bask of kraithe. 

Elder Mavren (ehl-DER / mav-RIN)
A person who has achieved the greatest mavren status of any given town. Subject matter may vary, depending on what is most important to that region. (ex: The town of Gaeris is known for training soldiers, therefore, the Elder Mavren of that region specializes in fighting and war strategies. The town of Esquoia is known for its cultural innovation, so the Elder Mavren of that city is a master of architecture and arts.)

An ancient word used to describe those who are born with physical ailments. 

Emural | (EM-er-uhl) | pl. emurals
The highest ranking official in the rebel army.

Esquoia | (es-KOI-uh) 
- a resident might be called an Esquoian (es-KOI-yin)
The second largest city of the Eleynian empire, known for being poetic pioneers in literature, art, architecture, language, and culture.

faerprin | (FAIR-prin) | pl. faerprins
1.) A newborn faerwik.
2.) in traditional Eleynian swordsmanship, this is the first Moon sequence, utilizing a quick and agile parrying to strike your opponent.

faerwik | (FAIR-wik) | pl. faerwiks
1.) A small, nocturnal mammal native to the regions of Eleynia and Oswania. They live in towering forests, crafting "nests" in treetops for their young and hunting at night.
2.) in traditional Eleynian swordsmanship, this the proper return to defend against the faerprin maneuver, the first Moon sequence.

Gaeris | (gair-IS)
a resident might be called a Gaerik (gair-IK)
A secret village in the Caldenor region of northwest Eleynia; a training site for Resistance fighters, Gaeris is tucked behind a small mountain range, just between Eleynia and the colossal mountains of Ūgresh.

jarkai | (jahr-KAHY)
1.) means "to acquire by force" in the ancient language
2.) in traditional Eleynian swordsmanship, this is the third Sun maneuver, a sequence defined by a series of quick movements at close range, cutting into the opponent's personal space.

jarken | (jahr-KIN)
1.) means "unconquerable" in the ancient language
2.) in traditional Eleynian swordsmanship, this is the proper return to defend against the jarkai, the third Sun maneuver.

Jartüle | (jahrt-HEUL) | pl. Jartüles
A large forest native to the Eleynian region; each tree is considered to be a spiritually sentient being, a receptor of Rithika's grace and wisdom.

kraithe | (kreyth) | pl. kraithe
1.) a winged reptilian beast with a crested head and ejectable poisonous darts lining its spine and wings; a breed of dragon. (A group of kraithe is called a "bask")
2.) in traditional Eleynian swordsmanship, this is the fourth Moon maneuver, named after the dragon due to its resemblance of the creature's airborne mating dance.

kraike | (krahyk)
In traditional Eleynian swordsmanship, this is the proper return to defend against the kraithe, the fourth Moon maneuver.

Lunar Strings (loo-NER / strings)
A system of counting days, with reference to the length of the moon cycle.

Maleia | (muh-LEY-yuh) 
a person from this region might be called a Maleian (muh-LEY-yehn)
The Oswanian capitol and home to the clan that rules over the land.

Martial Mavren | (MAHR-shuhl / mav-RIN)
A title given to skilled persons chosen to teach fighting and self-defense techniques, as well as strengthen individual discipline and honor.

mavren | (mav-RIN)
A person who has mastered a subject they intend to teach.

Moon sequence
A series of passive fighting drills, designed with the intent to defend.

prarck | (prahrk)
1.) native to the Ahnrii province of Eleynia, this large, heavy carnivorous mammal has thick fur, sharp claws, stocky legs, and two horns swooping over its ears and forward; its brown fur is topped with a grasslike turf along its spine to camouflage into its surroundings when sleeping.
2.) in traditional Eleynian swordsmanship, this is the first Sun maneuver, named after the Ahnriian beast of Eleynia due to the move's quick and deceiving nature.

prarsh | (prahrsh)
In traditional Eleynian swordsmanship, this is the proper return to defend against the prarck, the first Sun maneuver.

Prioskas | (pree-OHS-skuhs)
- a resident might be called a Prioskan (pree-OHS-skin)
A province of Eleynia comprising the southeastern islands of Seca (seh-KAH), Basarus (bah-sarr-UHSS), Aüoa (ah-EU-waw), and Nyra (nahy-RUH).

Rith (rith)
The main religion of the Eleynia and Képprūkah kingdoms, which honors the goddess Rithika.

Rithen (rith-EHN)
A follower of the religion of Rith, which honors the goddess Rithika.  

Rithika (rith-IH-kuh)
A supreme deity. Rithika is considered the creator and ruler of the universe in the religion of Rith.

Rivaumwae | (riv-AHM-wey)
a resident might be called a Rivaumwen (riv-AHM-win)
A southwestern village of Eleynia, known in history for its breathtaking waterfalls, springs, and thriving greenery. However, wars with the neighboring nation of Oswanya has destroyed many of its forests and polluted its waters.

ryka | (RAHY-kuh)
The ancient word, meaning "to take with violent force."

Sun sequence
A series of aggressive fighting drills, designed with the intent to kill.

tyr | (teer) | pl. tyrs
A student training for battle in the Resistance for emural Tyrko Ahrius.

ūthran | (ooth-REN) | pl. ūthran
Thin, bowed sword, designed with curvature for sleek movements.

yorgahn | (yoor-GAWN) | pl. yorgahns
Weighing eight tons, this large omnivorous creature has four thick, blunt legs that stand three men high. Covering its body is a ragged shell, which the beast is known to either retreat into for defense or ram into potential threats. 

Zaudeth | (zaw-deth)
A meadowy region in southeast Eleynia, whose landscape grows more barren along the coastline. Its beaches are largely abandoned, due to the presence of colossal yorgahns that call it home.
