At about midnight, Changbin woke up to the sound of his mother's screams. He ran to the kitchen, but he was too late. His father was stabbed at least 10 times, his mother over 5 times, directly to the heart. A gruesome scene left behind, scarring the mind of the 15 year old.
After seeing the scene, he ran. Since no one was there, he thought he would be blamed for his parents deaths. He couldn't drive yet so he ran all the way to downtown where he ran into someone. That someone noticed something was off and asked him what was wrong. Changbin, still a bit shaken up, felt it was safe to tell him what happened. He told him that his parents were brutally murdered and that he was running because he didn't want to be accused of their murders.
This man, whose name was Woojin Changbin learned, brought him to a seemingly abandoned warehouse and introduced him to Chan. Chan asked Changbin so many questions before he comforted him. Later that day, Chan officially took him in, making the duo a trio.
