chapter 2 > babysitting?

- third person pov -

"Garp, when I said I would do absolutely anything for you, this is not what I had in mind."

"Whatever do you mean, Shin-chan?" she rolled her eyes

"I am a mercenary, not a bloody babysitter!" she yelled at him as he continued to drag her by the wrist up the massive mountain they were currently climbing

Eiko D. Shinji, 15 years old yet one of the best mercenaries that is hired by nearly everyone around the world, can do the job better than any other merc there is but will only do the job if the pay is big. She's also quite wanted from the people that she's stolen from, the bounty hunters they send after her a quite weak, losers even, they don't stand a chance against the likes of her. So... how did this infamous person get into a situation like this?

"Now now, Shin-chan, there's no need for you to raise your voice. I know you're going to like these two though!" she raised an eyebrow

"I don't mind looking after Luffy but I don't know about this other kid, didn't you say he was the son of Gol D. Roger? Not that that's the thing I'm bothered about, its just the behavioral issues that I'm worried about." he starts to laugh, like it was the funniest thing he's heard in years

"Bwahahaha!! Behavioral issues?! That's what you're afraid of?!" she smacked his arm

"Kids these days are fucking crazy! Who knows, this one might want to kill me for fuck sakes, & I'm 15!" he smacks his hand onto her back, sending her tumbling forward onto the ground

"You're way stronger compared to him! Even when you were 10, you were still stronger!" he picked her up off the ground & started walking "Come now!" she just sighed as she dusted herself off before following after him

"I better be getting something out of this..." she muttered, she kept her eyes on the ground but let out an oof when she bumped into something, she looked up & in confusion looked around when she realized she walked into a tree "Garp? Garp?!" she looked around for any sign of the old bastard but saw nothing "... shit."

She lets out a long, agitated sigh before going off somewhere! She pulled a face when she realized she was going even more off then where she was originally suppose to go. She knows the seas like the back of her hand but when it comes to jungles & forests... she becomes lost like an idiot, she just gets the shittest sense of direction when she's in a vast open area. She spun around before sighing & climbing up a tree to get a better view, maybe if she found Luffy she could get outta here & get some shut eye

She met Luffy when Garp was "training" him a few times up in the mountains before dumping him at the village for Makino to look after, a very nice woman that owns a bar. She'd visit Luffy whenever she was in the East Blue to tell him stories of her adventures, give him a few souvenirs & even food, he liked the times when she'd visit

"I wonder where Lu is at." she muttered but almost fell down the tree she was in when she heard screaming

"Ahh!! Please don't kill me!!" the voice screamed, she pursed her lips as she recognized the voice

"There he is." she muttered before running a hand through her hair then jumping over to where she heard the sounds, though, she wasn't the only one that heard the cries for help

"Those children Ace & Sabo you're telling me about are famous around here. You're sure its Ace that took our money, right?"

"Yes... I am a shamed, but he got me by surprise."

"What a stupid child. To steal money from our crew...!! If captain Bluejam hears about this, he'll kill the both of us!" Porchemy, a ruthless pirate that serves under the man named Bluejam, who is also a well-known pirate in the seas of the East Blue... not that well-known if even Shinji doesn't know who they are
