Chapter Seventeen

I got out of the driver side to open her door

Taraji:I'm getting fat and this dress is too tight
Terrence:You not getting fat and I loved the jumper you had on but this dress looks great too,I don't even know why you and Brooklyn changed outfits

We walked to the private booth and everyone was already settled in and about to finish their starter.

Terrence:Sorry we late
Brooklyn:It's fine Daddy

We both sat in with Taraji in the middle of Brooklyn and I.

Vanessa:Taraji how are you?
Taraji:Fine

I called the waiter over so we could get out food

Waiter:Good day sir and what can I get you?
Terrence: I'll have the scallops and avo starter please
Taraji:I'll have the Tomato soup with the olive and cheese toast
Waiter:And what would you like to drink?
Taraji:Just bring us a bottle on Moët.
Waiter:Coming right up
Brooklyn:You paying Miss Taraji?
Taraji:Your Daddy paying

Everything has been going well so far and I mean no eye rolling,snide remarks and sarcastic comment and I just hope it stays like that until we step out of this place

Phylicia:Terrence your Dad invited you and her to church on Sunday
Terrence:I wouldn't mind coming baby?
Taraji:Okay and I would love to meet your Dad
Brooklyn:He is like the coolest Granddad ever and I'm a bit sad he couldn't come because if the revival
Taraji: Phylicia your husband is a preacher?
Phylicia:No he is a deacon
Vanessa:How can she not know that?

Oh here it goes...

Taraji:You said somethin?
Vanessa:No
Taraji:Good
Brook:Okay let's order our main

Brooklyn called our wait and I could just feel the tension in this table. Taraji stood up to go the bathroom so she'll place her order when she come back cause you never know what she wants.

Vanessa:I'll have the the lamb meat with mash and four season salad
Brooklyn:I'll have the T-bone steak with Mushroom sauce and onion rings
Terrence:I'll have what she is having but the garlic sauce instead of mushroom
Phylicia:Rice with chicken strips and white asparagus.
Waiter:Your order will be ready in a few minutes

Before th waiter left Taraji came back

Waiter:And what will you have mam?
Taraji:The rice with chicken strips and green asparagus
Brook:That's what Grandma having

See? Both of them might not see it now but they have more in common and if they could just out their pride aside and have a real talking with each other they would get along like a house on fire.

Vanessa:So baby what are plans since you officially done with school?
Brook:I don't know but I definitely want to get a job ASAP and Granddad does have this internship thingy going on but I'll see.
Phylicia:Just take your time and really know what you want to do then you can make a decision
Taraji:Baby maybe you can try job shadowing to see what you want permanently
Phylicia:That's actually a good idea

Something they agree on for once

Vanessa:Uhh Brooklyn is my child I don't think you can add your two cents
Terrence:Vanessa...
Taraji:Baby it's fine
Vanessa:"baby iT's FinE". I don't even know why this girl is here,it's my daughters day and she is here for what and last time I checked the two of you broke up
Taraji:I'll skip on dessert and Phylicia Terrence told me you going back with us so we are leaving now

Oh well there goes my good day.

If Taraji is pissed off that means everyone has to be careful with what they say or do around her. I got up to go settle our bill and just get out of this place before these two kill each other.

Terrence's ex wife is a real piece of shit and if Brooklyn wasn't at that table I wouldn't have held my tongue but because she is Brook's mom I will respect her in front of her child and Phylicia behaved herself today because God knows I don't have the energy to deal with her. We on our way to drop her off and she decided to sit at the back. I still haven't gone to the doctor or taken a pregnancy test,I think I'm pregnant but I don't want to jinx or over think it.

Terrence:Baby what's up?
Taraji:Nothing just thinking
Terrence:About?
Taraji:Nothing serious baby just work stuff
Terrence:Okay Mom I guess we will see you  Sunday at church
Phylicia:And Lunch afterwards.
Taraji:We will see if we even make it to church okay. BYE!

She is just annoying and I just want to get home and put my ass to bed,Terrence better not try me today because I've kept my cool and not addressed shit and that doesn't help because I could feel myself dosing off

Terrence:Taraji...
Taraji:Mhhh
Terrence:Why would you talk to her like that know how she is?
Taraji:I don't really want to talk about your Mama okay. NOT TODAY!

Finally some peace in this house,Brooklyn is out with her friends celebrating and Taraji has been sleeping since we got. She still hasn't fully agreed to moving into the house but she is here most of the time but I don't want pressurise her into doing so,my phone started ringing and I just hope it's not a business call because I took a day of. My mom.

Terrence:Mom...
Phylicia:You don't sound too happy to hear my call Terrence
Terrence:It's because I know you disturbing my peace so what do you want this time?
Phylicia:Terrence your little girlfriend was very rude to the MOTHER OF YOUR CHILD and you just sent there letting her continue doing so without saying a word.
Terrence:Rude? If anything Vanessa was very disrespectful  to Taraji and she was lucky she held her tongue today and Mom this thing is getting tiring now,if it's not you giving her a hard time,it's Vanessa whom I've told you a million times that's it's woll never get back with and I don't know why you don't understand! Do you not want to see me happy with the woman who is very important in my life?
Phylicia:I do want you to be happy but I know that Taraji is not the girl for you
Terrence:Mama don't make me choose because you won't like it
Phylicia:So you saying you would choose Taraji over your own Mother

I took a short breath because this is important and she needs to know where she will stand in future if she continues with this kind of behavior

Terrence:Yes I would choose her
Phylicia:I can't believe this
Terrence:I'm serious,if you keep up with this thing you have against Taraji I will remove myself from you permanently okay
Phylicia:Terrence...
Terrence:I have to go,I love you Ma

I don't know how many times I rewrote this chapter to give you guys the best I can.
