Name For The Band

Mr. S was sitting at the desk strumming his guitar. The rest of us were talking quietly. Michelle, Eleni, and Summer walked to him.

"Hey Mr. S?"

"Hmmhmm?"

"We have a name for the band."

"Hit me."

Michelle showed a shirt they made to him. What did it say?

"The School of Rock...The School Of Rock."

Nice. Mr. S started standing on top of the desk.

"And we shall teach rock n roll to the world."

He started singing.

"There's no way you can't stop...The School Of Rock, Yeah!"

"Stop! We have a red alert, it's Mullins!" Frankie said.

"To your positions, to your positions!"

He jumped down.

Soon, he was pretending to teach us.

"Columbus had three boats, the Nina, the..."

"Pinta?" I said.

"That's right, and...Marko?"

"The Sansa Marina."

"The Sansa Marina, well, actually it's Santa Maria. And uh - listen, pay attention kids!"

"She's gone," Frankie said.

"I'll flunk every last one of you."

Mullins was gone. We went back to practice. I decided to do something that's not my position in the band. I walked to Zack.

"Hey Zack,"

"Hi Zelda, what's up?"

"Can I play your guitar a bit?"

"I guess. You know how to play?"

"Give it and watch me."

He shrugged and gave the guitar to me. I started playing that riff of Rebel Rebel I knew by heart how to play.  I started singing.

"Got your mother in a whirl and she's not sure if you're a boy or a girl. Hey babe, you're hair's alright. Hey babe, let's go out tonight."

Mr. S walked to me and he started clapping to the music.

"Woo! Go Zelda!" Summer shouted.

"Rebel rebel, you torn your dress. Rebel rebel, your place is a mess. Rebel rebel, how could they know. Hot tramp, I love you so!"

They were clapping for me. I stopped playing.

"Oh my gosh Zelda, I didn't know you could play!" Mr. S said impressed.

"I can play the guitar and the tambourine."

"I will make sure you get your own guitar solo in the competition. I'll find an extra guitar for you."

"Awesome."

We continued the rest of the day.
