In this exercise, the invitation is to pick as s focus of awareness a new aspect of life. You may really look at a particular leaf on a tree, or a stone, flower, or plant. You may want to think about a piece of furniture or decoration you like, wondering how it came into being and how many people were involved in its creation.

A recent study shows that mindfulness practices such as this may not only be responsible for structural changes in the brain, but also extend our life.
So far, the research has shown psychological and cognitive changes: improvements in perception and well-being, for example. However, it also appears that meditation might actually help delay the process of ageing by protecting the caps, or telomeres, located at the ends of our chromosomes.

With a sense of adventure and curiosity, we can learn and experience more, moment by moment.
