The Only Exception

Chapter Four

I woke up around 9:30am and threw my hair up in a messy bun. I walked out of my room and laid down on the couch.  

"Good morning Neens!! Did you sleep well?" My mum asked me.

"Indeed!" I replied as I made my way to the room service. I grabbed a slice of toast and hummed a tune. 

"I'm going to head to the spa downstairs, care to join?" my mum asked.

"Sounds lovely, but I think I'll pass! I need to work on my tan today." I replied as I walked towards my room and flopped down on the bed. I checked the time on my phone. It was 9:47am. Prime tanning hours are from 10:00-2:00! Perfect! I washed my face, brushed my teeth and slipped on my bikini. I grabbed my pool bag and a towel and head down to pool. I tanned for about 3 hours and then head inside for a shower. I watched about 5 episodes of the vampire diaries and then checked the time. SHIT! It was 8:23! I was late for Luke's. I threw on some sweats and a t-shirt and my converse then practically ran to Luke's suite.

Ashton answered the door. "Hey Nina! Weren't you supposed to be here like 30 minutes ago?"

"I'm sorry...I lost track...of time!" I said out of breath from running.

"You know you have a habit of being late?" Luke smirked at me from behind Ashton. "C'monnn." He pulled me through the doorway towards the T.V. 

I grabbed a blanket then sat down on the couch as Luke grabbed a bowl of popcorn from the kitchen.

He met me on the couch. "So I already picked out all the movies we're watching." He stated.

"Ohhhh, so I don't have a say?" I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Exactly." He said as a put the first movie in.

"Alright we're gonna head out." Calum said as he walked out of the room and grabbed his jacket.

"Where are you guys going?" I asked with a confused look on my face.

"Niall and Harry invited us over to their suite tonight." Calum replied.

Michael walked out of his room and to the door to meet the other boys. "Hi Nina. Bye Nina." He said as he opened the door and walked out.

"Byee!" I giggled. 

"We should be home tomorrow, seeya then." Ashton said as he walked out the door with Calum.

"Bye!" Luke and I said symultameously. 

"This better not be a scary movie..." I stated with a serious look on my face. He smirked at me as he pressed play.

The movie started as I tried to guess what it was..

"NO. LUKE TAKE IT OUT RIGHT NOW. I AM NOT WATCHING THE POSESSION." I stated.

"Ninnnnna, you'll be fine! It's not even scary." Luke stated as if it were no big deal.

"If I get posessed tonight, you'll be the first person I kill." I stated with a serious tone. 

"Nina! You're not going to get posessed. Ok?" Luke said as he paused the movie.

"Fine. I'll watch it." I gave in. He smiled with satisfaction then pressed play.

After that we watched, The Conjuiring and Insidious. After a series of pulling the covers up over my face, the movies ended. 

I grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around me as I laid down on the couch and closed my eyes. 

"What are you doing?" Luke laughed.

I opened my eyes. "Oh. Did you think I was going to walk back to my suite after watching those movies?" I questioned. 

"I'll grab you some pillows." He laughed then walked into the room he was staying.

He came back with a bunch of pillows and a blanket. "Here. I know how you can't sleep with one pillow." He said as he threw the pillows on the couch.

"Thanks Luke. You're the best." I said as I propped the pillows under my head and around me for protection.  

"Goodnight Nina." He giggled at the barrier of pillows I made.

"Night!" I quickly replied as walked into his room and shut the door.

I couldn't close my eyes because of how scared I was and I kept the blankets pulled up to my nose even though I was burning hot. I sat up and glanced at Luke's door. No. You can not go in there. He's probably sleeping. Then the sound of the air conditioning turning on made me jump and I ran over to Luke's door.

I slowly opened the door. His head shot up when he heard it. 

"Luke I'm scared." I said with wide eyes as i stared at him.

He stared at me for a couple seconds and then finally said "Come here you big baby." I ran over to the bed and got in. "Remember last year when we watched a scary movie together and you couldn't sleep so I had to sleep on the couch with you?"

I giggled. "I guess history repeats itself." 

He pulled me closer to him and wrapped his arms around me. I fell asleep to the sound of his heart beating against my forehead.
