Chapter Fourteen

"Tes-" Olivia starts and gets cut off.

"Leave it, Olivia." I mumble. I watch her shoulders drop before she grabs her coat from the counter. 

"I'll see you at home." She states quietly. I shift in my spot and stay quiet, making Olivia look up at me. "What? You're spending the night here...Again?" She asks. "After everything I just said." She scoffs.

"We just found out that they want to take Iris away because she was a part of the contract." I state. "Liv....I need to be here." I add slowly. 

"Right. Okay." She swallows hard and nods. 

"I'll see you tomorrow." I say as she wipe's at her cheek and walks towards me. I reach down and place a kiss on her ljps before she quickly moves back. 

"I think it's best if we don't see eachother tomorrow Nick or...Any other day. Like you said, Tessa needs you." Olivia says before she walks past me.

"What?" I say in confusion.

"Tessa and her kids need you more than me. Stay with them." She says as she stops at the doorway. "And...Forget about me...Just like you always do, only this time forget about me for good." She adds.

"The fucks that supposed to mean?" I throw my hands up in the air. "Olivia! What the hell does that mean!" I yell when she walks out.

I push open the door before I quickly place my hand on the gun under my grey suit jacket. I signal for Tessa to stay by the door before I start to check the rooms in the hotel suite that she is staying in. It's actually way bigger than mine. I turn to face Tessa when the rooms are clear and walk back to her.

"No one's here." I say, making her nod slowly before she walks in. "You can always stay with me downstairs you know." I add.

"No." Tessa shakes her head. "I need time on my own to think." She says quietly.

"About what? The contract? You're not thinking about signing it again, are you?" I ask.

"No." She shakes her head. "She asked me how old Milo was." Tessa says slowly.

"Yeah, so? She was just trying to make you snap, T. Don't worry about it. They're safe-" I start and get cut off.

"She was about to say his name. She was about to say Noahs name which means she knows about him. About them!" Tessa says quickly.

"I didn't hear her say Noahs name." I state.

"That's because I jumped at her before she could say his name, Nick." Tessa sighs. I shake my head lightly.

"Noah is in safe hands. Xavier won't let anyone come within ten feet of Noah. He'll be fine and they don't know shit about him." I shrug. I watch Tessa sigh again as she wraps her arms around herself and leans her back against the wall.

"And the contract-" Tessa says, making me talk over her quickly.

"Woah, woah, woah! We're not even going to think about the damn contact let alone signing it." I say. "Alright?" I say when I don't get a word out of her. "Alright?" I repeat myself again.

"All of this is too much for me to handle right now, Nick. I just come off my pills and I can't handle it so...I need to be alone. Please." She adds, making me sigh. Before I can say anything her phone starts to ring. I watch her tap her back pockets slowly before she pulls out her Iphone and takes in a large breath before she answers the face time call.

"Hey! I didn't wake you up did I?" I hear Ryder say.

"Hey sweetheart." Tessa puts on a fake smile. Man, is she a good actress!
"No, I just got to my hotel now." Tessa states. "I'm sorry that I asked you to baby sit at such short notice with Xavier, Ry. I didn't think I would be staying-" She starts and gets cut off.
