I'm standing in the dining room hallway leading to the living room. It's night time, about 11 o'clock. I'm in the dining room, the table is behind me, the lights are on. The lights are also on in the lonely kitchen to the left of me, and the living room. In front of me, in the living room, the back door sits. I see my sister and my grandma, both with pale, horrified faces, on different sides of the back door. I soon hear a banging on the door, and I click back to reality. I can hear their screams, their desperation to live, their pushing on the door to keep the person on the other side out. I then began to panic, I began to cry, my heart is racing so fast it could jump out of my chest. All I can think of is, "Death, but I want to live, I WANT to live." The banging on the door intensely grows louder, then abruptly stops. My sister and grandma look perplexed, and they soon lock the door, why wasn't it locked before?, I don't know. I soon then think of my little brother. I dash around the table, and to the hallway with the room leading to him. The other rooms are dark, empty, and it's dead silent. The cold air tickles my wet cheeks. I run into his room thinking of a way to escape. He's sleeping with my older brother, who I don't even bother to wake up. Guilt shrickles up my spine, I grit my teeth and I ignore it. I haul my little brother onto my back, and I think of a way to escape. I began to fret, because now I think, "Too quiet, the person must be thinking of another way to get in". Now with sweat running down my face, I think of how I'm going to make it out of this alive. "I don't wanna die, I want to live". But my fate is saying the contrary. Immediately, the front door, side door, back door, and window is what I think of. I decide on making a dash for the side door and run to my good neighbor, Mr. Brown. I think of his mint green house, his house scent of mint, and his soothing welcoming smile. I walk down the hallway, ready to shoot my shot to live. Then, I turn the corner, and as I look into the living room, I see my grandma and sister dead. Their once beautiful, lively faces, gone... Litteraly. I can't even bear to look at them. I all at once forget about everything else. My little brother on my back, where I am, my roar to live, when I see the person who "was on the other side", is at the back doorway. The first thing that comes to mind is, "WHEN? HOW? WHY?". I didn't even hear a thing. At this point, I'm terrified. The long, skanky figure, had brown, messy hair, a sleeveless gray sweater with wide black diamonds printed across the chest, a white work shirt underneath, with long slick black work pants, and brown leather slacks, and a machete equipped in his left hand, but where's the blood? The most frighting thing about this person, was the mask that drowned you if you dared look into it. It's peculiar to describe. It's pitch black, clouded, yet if you stare into it for too long it's like you get lost. It scares me to the point where I drop lifelessly, and silent tears drop down my face, I can't even move, shocked with senseless fear. I was staring death right in the face. I could sense the deadly and blood thirsty aura from where I was. It was visible and present, although one couldn't see it with bare eyes. I blinked, and before I knew it the figure was gone, with the back door left wide open, allowing the dark outdoors to creep its way in. I make an attempt to move, but I'm frozen, I'm stuck. I sense something behind me, and there the figure was. With a quick swipe, before I knew it, my hand had been decapitated from my body. The person with the mask playing with my now disstatched hand was all I saw, along with with my screaming, mortified younger brother before passing out. Oddly, I woke up and everything seemed okay. Everything was the same, the setting was the same as well, with no skanky figure, my brothers still asleep, and my sister and grandma in the living room. Though, this time, I arose from my bed. I checked my hand, and it was stitched back on, not even correctly. At this point, I was afraid, and confused. I tamper with my hand, that jostles back and forth, and watch as the stitches bounce almost in harmony with my hand. Soon after, I get tired of my dead hand, not even of any use, it's not a part of me anymore. I walked down the hallway and peeked around the corner to check in the living room, my sister and grandma were still standing in the same position, but with their backs turned. Things seem off, but I brush the thought off. I'm so happy to see them again, I didnt question anything that had happened previously. I call their names, and they turn around, but they have no faces. Soon after I see the skanky figure reflecting off of both of them. Until I realize, he's controlling them as puppets. And as everyone suddenly approaches me, at his will, collecting his last living thing in the house, I scream.

After the dream
I then jostle up from sleep, realizing it was all just a dream, I check my hand, it's there. I look to see my sister in the bed next to mine as we share rooms, she's there. Only the kitchen light is on, and as I peek around the hallway to the living room, my grandma is sleeping peacefully. As I'm walking back, I check on my brothers, they're there. I say my prayers and go back to bed without saying a word.
