Uncrossing her legs, she stood up to her tall height, and it only took about two steps to reach me. Her hand reached up towards the front of my dress, her nails pushing the button through the fabric loop, and it instantly came undone. "Oops, my mistake. Looks like you just have to deal with some cleavage, babe."

Her last excuse for dressing me up in one of her outfits was, 'Well, you know, I thought we could spice up your attire a little bit. See, it does suit your complexion!'

I rolled my eyes at her, "Are you sure this suits me? I feel like I look weird."

"You look great," she reassured me. She is good to me, so very good. Viviana is the only one who can give me the attitude to wear something I would like to wear, but feel like I can't.

I stared at her, searching her eyes for a sign that would tell me, 'it's a no', but I didn't get one. Instead, all I got was a friendly smile that gave away all of her excitement, and by friendly I mean crazy, but I tried ignoring that mad scientist look in her eyes.

Too good to be true, I thought as soon as she opened her mouth to add on something, "Very promiscuous," she winked.

Groaning loudly, I smacked my hands against my face, "Why are we even leaving, can't we just stay inside all day?"

"No can do," She answered, laughing quietly as she did so, "Max and Johnny are already waiting for us at Amanda's."

My hands fell to my sides and ran over the skirt of my dress. Making a bleh noise, I asked, "Why can't they just come here? I want to live the rest of my life in my house, away from the outside world, and maybe adopt a cat or two."

She grabbed my hand, "You're overthinking this, Emery, by a lot. So, don't you worry your pretty little head-" she rubbed her other hand over the top of my messy, frizzy hair, "-everything will be perfectly fine. We'll go outside, hang out with our friends-"

"Correction," I interrupted, "I have full faith that in the amount of time it takes for us to leave my bedroom, go down the stairs, and stop at the front door, that I will have officially changed your mind about going outside."

"You're crazy, you know that?" She asked playfully, shaking her head before she said, "Now, we should get going before Johnny calls complaining that we're taking too long."

Before I could get another word out, which was going to be a very long rant about Johnny's own time-consuming getting ready routine, Viviana was dragging me down the stairs and forcing me to put on my shoes. So, I shoved on a set that I thought relatively matched my outfit, and watched as Viviana put on her pair of black, low top sneakers, being a complete shock from her regular choice of footwear, that being heels.

The walk from my house to the coffee shop seemed especially long.

"Viviana," I groaned, stretching out her name until I ran out of breath, and I threw my head back dramatically when my shoe clad foot hit against the hard sidewalk for about the thousandth time in the past fifteen minutes.

"Almost there," Viviana cooed teasingly, "we just have to get past this big, heavy door."

I almost cringed at the mention of yet another heavy door, pushing past her as she pulled the door open for us and muttering a complaint on my way in, "Stupid doors, tombs need locks."

Shaking my head at the awkward memory, a thought ran through my mind—it was like I wasn't thinking at all, like I wasn't even in control.

Not bothering to look back, knowing very well that Viviana would have been looking at me with nothing but confusion, I stepped into the warm, comforting coffee shop, Amanda's.

Even if the place was packed full I would have still been able to hear the surprised gasp that came from across the room, and my head snapped towards the direction of the sound to instantly lock eyes with the blond man known as Johnny while he fanned his face with his hand. Stomping my way over to our regular table, along the way I tried to stuff my hands into my pockets, but sadly there wasn't any.

"Don't say a word," I hissed to Johnny as soon as I slithered into the seat next to him, but he ignored me and threw his arm around my shoulders.

"I see you're showing off the girls today, I'm impressed!" Johnny's lighthearted observation carved a smile on my face, "Did you find it in Viviana's closet?"

As if on cue, Viviana sat down across from me and wiggled her way into her mate's arms, Max wasted no time in wrapping himself around her.

"Isn't it cute?" Viviana gushed, smiling widely and looking at me as if she was a proud parent, "It looks so good on her."

"Definitely," Johnny agreed, but his excited expression turned playful as he lifted up a blond, coloured in eyebrow, and smirked, "if only our new Alpha was here."

"You know?" I whined, pushing my head against the table, and Johnny gently rubbed his hand up and down my back. Of course, I should know by now just how fast information can travel in a pack.

"Poor thing," Johnny's voice hit my ears, but what he said next made my blood freeze, "too bad that you'll have to see him soon."
