Chapter 27 - Skater Boy

I asked,

"I don't know. I just said it one day in math class and Luke thought it was a good idea."

I nodded as I sipped on my gingerale and saw a girl dressed in the same uniform approach us,

"Michael, we need you at table 10."

Michael smiled as he got up,

"It was nice seeing you again Rox."

Michael said as he gave me the bill for my drink as I saw him write something down on it,

"I'd like to see you again. Since we both work here we probably will."

I said hopefully,

"You can come see us perform here tomorrow night. It's usually our gig since everyone else has their own thing but this is something we share."

I smiled as I took the bill,

"Well then see you tomorrow."

He flashed me a smile as he mouthed bye and went off to where he was needed. I looked at the bill to see that he wrote something on it.

"On the house, can't wait to see you tomorrow ;)"

I saw his number was also written on the back, Same old Michael.

-Sages POV-

I was writing down more stuff for my Little Mix book. I had to make sure that I made everything exact and up to date. I saw the girls giggling as they had their phones out. They were probably making videos for their fans. I smiled as I decided to go to my bunk and call Roxy. I hope she's doing fine.

After the second ring, she answered.

"Hey there bestie! How's tour life?"

She asked me excitedly... That's weird... She was usually depressed when I called her before. This is the first time she's actually excited about something.

"Not bad. Lots of laughs and moving around from city to city. The girls are crazy great singing live and their dance routines are killer. I love documenting their success!"

Roxy giggled as I saw Perrie open my curtain and gave me a thumbs up before closing it.

"That's pretty awesome! I honestly can't wait to see it!"

I nodded as I decided to finally ask her the question I wanted to ask her for a while.

"I would really love to see you... So I booked you a flight to come see us tonight!"

I cheered as I heard silence on the other end,

"Really? I-I'm sorry but I already made plans with someone down here. Can we re-schedule?"

I was taken back, usually Roxy's all up for anything,

"With who? We are all up here? Oh no, who did you meet?"

I said hearing her breath on the other end rise. I know she was excited.

"I saw Michael Clifford. He works at this bar I went to last night and knews is he has a band and I'm going to see them perform tonight."

She cheered as I sighed,

"Michael Clifford? The emo, skater boy that was sooo clingy too you in high school? Do you know that he dropped out right after you left? So did Calum Hood, Luke Hemmings and that other blonde boy... Ashton! That's it. They all have an unrealistic dream of becoming an international band."

I heard Roxy gasp on the other end,

"We talked about his band and the whole drop out situation. I dropped out too Sage. So it really doesn't matter if he and his friends dropped out does it? And don't say his dream is unrealistic. I want to be a singer and look, my idol gave me a record deal. Demi called me and told me that she signed me up for a new recording studio and I start in two weeks. You always told me you wanted to a be an author. You are, you're also an autobiographer! Never say anyone's dream is unrealistic."

She sounded like a motivational speaker. Where's Obama when you need him?

"Okay, okay. I just don't want you around him because I know that he is so emotional and such a gamer. He's just everything you don't need to bother with."

"Sage. I don't care what Michael is. He is my friend and I will always be there for him. You and I have some things in common. Not everything but we're friends! I know you're looking out for me and I understand you care but I need to take things in my own hands for once. Alright?"

I sighed and nodded my head,

"Yeah I know. So, don't be busy next week. You're coming down to see us okay?"

I could feel her smile on the other end,

"I won't be busy. I'll come see you and the girls and James... Anyways how is James?"

I smiled,

"He's doing good. He's extremely romantic. We actually have a date after the show this afternoon. His tour bus is gonna meet us there just so we can have some time to be together."

I heard her coo on the other end,

"I love you guys so much! I can't wait until the wedding!!!"

We both cheered as I saw Leigh-Anne and Jesy jump into my bunk as they crushed me. We all laughed as I tried to get up. Leigh took the phone from me.

"Hey Roxy! We miss you and can't wait to see you!"

Jesy stole the phone from Leigh,

"Boys are toys. They are meant to be played with. Remember that! Stay strong. We love you."

Jesy gave me back the phone as they giggled and jumped off of me and ran off somewhere, Roxy and I were both laughing.

"So I'll talk to you later. I've gotta get to work on some demos. Hope I get some good motivation."

I smiled as I got off of the bed and saw Jade and Perrie waiting for me,

"I'm sure you will. Go take a walk or something. I know how it clears your mind."

We both laughed because I do know my best friend from inside out,

"I will. Go have fun now!!"

Roxy suggested as we both laughed and said goodbye.

"How's Roxy?"

Jade asked as I smiled,

"She is happy. From what I hear she met an old friend and they are going to see eachother tonight."

They cheered,

"Who is it?"

Perrie asked,

"His name is Michael. Michael Clifford."

Their jaws dropped, as Jade took out her phone and typed something in. We both looked to see what Jade was up too.

"You're stalking him!!"

I squeeled as Jade scrolled around in his Facebook profile.

"Ooh, he seems very emo and punk rock. Seems like Roxy's perfect match."

Jade and Perrie giggled,

"You don't get it. Roxy is a mess right now and if she hangs around him. She'll become depressed again. In high school when they hung out, she started to cut and I really tried to help her stop but anyways."

I sighed as Perrie and Jade comforted me,

"It's fine to re-look things but you need to know that Roxy can take care of herself. It's good that you look out for her. You're a great person and friend."

Perrie and Jade flashed me a smile as I slightly grinned,

"Thanks guys. Now let's go prank Jesy and Leigh. They abruptly jumped on me and squished my gut!!"

We all cheered as we ran out to find the girls.
