Cipher

Chapter 1

The drawing above is not mine credit goes to the creator and I don't own anything except for the story and that's it. Gravity Falls belongs to someone else.

Dipper walked into his old summer room in the Mystery Shack from 3 years ago beside his twin sister Mabel. Dipper had shorter hair that showed off his birth mark and replaced his vest with a larger navy blue jacket with a mustard yellow T shirt  underneath and a necklace with a pine tree on it . Mabel no longer had her braces and wore her signature shooting star sweater and had light blue jeans and a little bit of make up on. 

He sighed and walked over to his side of the room and placed his suitcase on his bed, he opened it up to be faced with a red journal with a sloppily cut out pine tree on it and a the number 1 written with sharpie. Dipper had created his own Journal after he left Gravity Falls he did his own research around his hometown it was only 1/5th filled though, since there weren't many paranormal things where they lived unlike Gravity Falls which was like a gold mine to people like Dipper. 

He grabbed a backpack and placed the journal in it along with a flashlight, water bottle, chewed up pens and pencils, and his watch since his parents refused to get either Mabel or a phone until they were 16. 

He walked towards the doors to leave only to be blocked by Mabel 

"Where do you think you're going?" She asked she no longer needed her braces and wore a lot more make up now, but she still loved her colorful sweaters. She was wearing a sweater that had her signature shooting star on it.

"I'm going to go out into the woods" he stated as he tried to walk around her only for Mabel to block him.

"But Diippeerr" she whined "we just got here and you want to go into the woods? Why don't you stay here in the shack and spend some quality time with your family? Grunkle Stan and Ford are only going to stay for so long... " Dipper just rolled his eyes and pushed her aside as he began to walk out the door

"Wendy's going to be here soon~" Mabel said melodically as she looked at Dipper with an I-just-won-and-now-you-have-to-stay-with-me kinda look.

"I thought she was in New York" said Dipper turning towards Mabel 

"Nope!" said Mabel as she walked down the stairs and walked towards Dipper "She came into Town just this morning!" Dipper felt torn he had been wanting to explore the woods ever since the last time he was here in Gravity Falls the city's parks weren't the same but he also wanted to see how Wendy was doing he had only talked to her through letters and every now and then calls. 

Dipper sighed "Fine. I'll stay" he stated as he waked back up the stairs to put his stuff away 

"Woo!" yelled Mabel happily as she ran around in circles with Waddles slowly following behind her.

Dipper rolled his eyes Mabel didn't change much from when they were 12. He walked past her and went to hi s bed and put his backpack under his bed for later and started to unpack his suitcase looking for a book to read. 

When he finally found a book to read he sat on his bed and began to flip through the pages to look for where he originally was. 

Dipper hummed to himself as he read to get a starry eyed look from Mabel.

"What're you looking at?" 

"Noooothing" replied Mabel looking at the window Dipper looked back at his book and continued reading until Mabel interrupted him again "Hey... Dipper?" 

"What do you want?" asked Dipper annoyed at Mabel interrupting him while he was at a pretty good part. 

"Do you remember...Bill?" 

"Why do you ask?" Dipper just continued reading ignoring her slightly

"I just.... what if he's still out there?" Dipper thought for a moment questioning how he should respond. After a few seconds of thought Dipper finally closed his book and looked at Mabel who was eyeing the triangular window cautiously.

"Mabel...Bill's gone and if he were to come back we'd defeat him again everything will be fine" 

"But...we don't even know what happened! Grunkle Stan won't tell us anything for all we know Bill could...could...still be out there...hiding..."

"MABEL!" Mabel's eyes turned towards Dipper who was looking at her with stern eyes filed with determination. "You don't have to worry. Everything will be fine lets just enjoy our summer in Gravity Falls who knows when the next time we'll be able to visit..." Mabel looked down at the floor sheepishly. 

"Ok...."
