Chapter 6
Jarred sits down behind me. I turn around in my chair, to see him put my guitar next to him. He scratch his newly shaved hair and put his glasses on top of his head whilst looking at me. He then spreads his legs and leans his forearms over his thighs.
"You know that you are off for the holidays, right?" He asks me, leaning back in the chair he sits in. I nod.
"Yeah I know. But I like being here." I say. Jarred chuckles.
"I thought you were going to spend some time with Madison." He says and smirks.
I look down at the floor. Her name makes my heart beat faster inside my chest.
"Do you, happen to, know where she is?" I ask and he nods.
"She's spending some time with her best friend. He came home last night and-" I cut him off when he says guy.
"She's with a guy?" I say feeling my body tense thinking about what she could be doing right now. I shake my head and keep my head low. I take a deep breath to try and get myself together but look up when I hear Jarred laughing.
"Isaac I'm kidding. Her sister came home yesterday." He says and I give him a deadly glare.
"Fuck you!" Jarred giggles.
"You sure about that?"
"Positive" I said with clenched jaws.
"I knew you had a crush on her." I shake my head.
"I don't. I just want her to be treated the way she should and when she's not around me I can't make sure of that." I explain. Jarred crosses his arms on his chest and gives me a raised eyebrow along with a smirk.
"Oh, I see what you mean."
I lowered my eyes and stared at my dirty boots, the ones I always wear no matter what season. I swear that I have at least 20 pairs of the exact same shoe. "I don't know I just- she gives me this feeling and she doesn't feel the same way about me and it breaks my heart." Jarred tilted his head to the side and looked at me with worried eyes.
"You know what. The best thing in the music industry is a broken heart. I know exactly what to do," He grabs my guitar that he placed next to him and then look at me. "We are going to write a song, right now."
"A song, really?" I raise my eyebrow.
"Yes, you can express your feelings in that way, without telling Madison right away. And maybe she will understand that it's about her." Jarred says as he gives the guitar to me.
"Tell me, how does she make you feel?" Jarred takes out a few papers from my desk and a pencil. I shake my head again and lean down in the chair.
"Ah, come on Isaac. Just tell me already!" Jarred begs with a frustrated facial expression. "Alright, alright." I groan and take a deep breath.
"I want her close to me, like closer than closer. But she gives me like mixed emotions all the time so it's hard to tell what she's after." I start confessing my feelings to Madison in front of Jarred. He listens carefully to my words and start writing down possible lyrics.
"So you basically want to know if it is mutual? Before you get to involved in your feelings?" Jarred asks and I answer with nod.
"And I don't wanna leave her hanging or something, but like, half of her is just not enough for me."

I put my arms through the holes of my jacket and open my door with a fast movement. I take the keys out of my pocket and lock the door before I leave for the elevator. Slowly I go down the floors, stopping one time to let and old lady come inside. She gives me a warm smile, then look back to the photo she is holding in her hand. As the elevator stops again, both of us walks out but go different directions. The lady goes to the door leading to the basement, I go outside.
