Aurell' s POV

*new text message * my phone read .

I opened it and saw that it was Aubrey .

Aubreybear : wassup Aurell . We ain't talk in a minute . I miss my best friend.- 3:12 p.m

Me : oh really ? I'm surprised that you miss me . You hang with Jas EVERY single day . - 3:15 p.m

Aubreybear : aww man , com' on don't be like that . & why you worried ? It's not like we go out . - 3:16 p.m

Right when he said that , it struck me to the core . What I wanted to say was,? " Do you know how much it hurts seeing you with her everyday ? " but instead I kept my cool and responded saying ...

Me : you know what . it's cool I understand that that's your girlfriend . - 3:20 p.m
And left it at that .

* later that day *

Today I met up with an old friend of mine , that I' be known since middle school . We decided to meet up at Starbucks . After we order our drinks we began to catch up .

" So , Lauren girl , how have you been ? " I asked .

" I've been fine . What about you Aurell ? We have seen each other in a good 3 years " she stated .

" Same old stuff , still trying to keep my feelings about you know who on the low " I replied.

" Ohhh , you still like him don't you ? "

" Yup , but it's different now , he has a girlfriend . "

" Aww , well like I said a long time ago you should told him before he got a girlfriend . " she said sipping her drink .

" But you don't understand , it's not that easy . Plus he's my best friend and that'll just ruin our friendship . "

" True , true " Lauren said .

"So , what's going on with your dating life . " I asked

" My dating life? " Lauren asked as she laughed .

" Duhh . "

" Well I mean there' s this one guy . . . " she said while looking away .

" ooo ! Tell me about him . "

" Well he is very handsome , dark skin , tall as I don't know what and is sweet and caring . "

"Aww . "

After we finished our drinks we went to the mall and bought a few things . We decided that we'd make plans again for next week to do something .

Aubrey 's POV

" Baby what's wrong ? " Jasmine asked .

" Nothing baby . What made you think something was wrong ? "

" I don't know , you just zoned out . "

When I came to think about it something was wrong . It was Aurell . It' s like every time we end up talking or texting it just feels weird because we don't talk as much any more now that I'm with Jasmine . I love Jasmine to alot but I'm not going to lie , I do miss those times me and Aurell had back when we would just sit around playing video games and eating junk food til' late .

" Well it' s nothing you have to worry about baby girl , I'm fine . "

"Okay , but do you want me to make you some food ? "

" No no no . Remember what happened last time? Yo ass almost burnt my house down . " I laughed

she punched me in my arm " Aubrey that's not funny , I'm trying to learn ."

" Alright . alright , I'm sorry . " I stated still laughing .

" But a sandwich will be fine . " I said as she walked downstairs .
