10 years later...

Naruto's POV

Today was my birthday. That meant the villagers were coming. I could hear the shouting as they marched to our sorry excuse for a house.

I quickly shook Menma awake.

"They're coming", I said. "We have to hide".

He nodded and stood up.

"We should leave because they might burn the house down", Menma said. I agreed and we left through a window without being spotted.

We went to our usual hiding spot. It was a cave on the outskirts of Konoha. What was surprising was that someone had taken refuge there. The person wasn't there right now, but there was a sleeping bag in the floor as well as a traveling bag.

"We should go", I whispered.

"Wait", Menma said.

He walked over to the traveling bag and peeked inside. He spotted something and gasped quietly.

"Naruto", he called. "Look at this".

I walked over and saw it was a scroll with a lot of jutsus on it.

"Grab it and let's go", I said. He grabbed it and stuffed into his pants.

We ran out of there and wandered for a bit.  We saw a lake and decided to swim for a bit. Menma burst from the water and told me to follow him.

I  followed as he swam underwater. Soon we came to this rock and moved it. There was a cave behind it and we went inside. I moved the rock back were it was so the water would not come in.

"Check out what I found", he said smirking.

I took a good look around me and gasped. There was gems everywhere. The was also piles of cash.

"We'll never go hungry with this", I said in awe.

"There might be a curse on it you know", Menma said.

"We're already cursed", I said. He grimaced.

We took what we could and were about to leave until I saw a chest.

I walked to the chest and saw 2 swords and a book of jutsus in it. I put the rest of the items in there and left with Menma.

When we were on land we opened the chest. The sword I took was blue and white while the one Menma took was red and black.

I saw it was nearing nighttime so we headed back. We would've went inside, but our house was burned down. If this happened before, we would sleep in the woods. But now we have the money. Our lives will never be the same.
