Reaper:Book 1 The Reaper's Eye

Prolouge

       I still remember the night I was told I was a reaper. I was only three at the time, but the one thing I can never forget is the sight of the white snow as I was being thrown out of my own home.

       "Aria come down here!" My mom commanded with a strong voice. "This nice man wants to talk with you."

      "Okay, i'm coming now!" I responded with the stupidest grin on my face.

       "Now, are you sure you want me to test Aria?" The man asked my parents with concern.

       "Of course we would do anything to make sure she wasn't one of those demons!" My father shouted at the man.

       Without any further hesitation the man gave me a plain scythe. As it touched my bare hands it glowed a beautiful  purple lighting up the white snow around it. The blade and handle changed, the blade grew bigger as it gained a design. Then a giant purple diamond appeared three-fourths through. After the diamond the scythe gained a non-curved blade that appeared flat, but was also as sharp as an ax. The mysterious man gave my family a concerned glance as he began to speak. "Okay Aria can you please run at that test dummy as fast as you can with the scythe?" I nodded and then took off and almost as if something was controlling me i lifted the scythe and slashed at the dummy.

       At first nothing happened, but when I looked back the dummy split in half. And all I can remember is my dad screaming, "Red eyes, she has red eyes!" That was also the night I got thrown out. "So have you ever had something like that happen to you?" I said to a young guard as I slammed my scythe into the snow. I saw he was terrified so I continued. "Now, tell me what happened to the Stone family, if you don't tell me i'll end you right here.
