For as long as she can remember Scarlett Owens has been living through darkness, she has always sought to be happy. Yet, she always stayed with this feeling of uselessness compared to everyone else around her. Those who have met her might think she's the happiest soul on this planet. That's because she always feigns happiness, always putting on this bubbly attitude when she's with others. But, no one knows what's going on inside this lively girl that everyone sees.
She's always second-best. Never a priority to anyone, or anything. Her parents favoring her older brother over her doesn't help this feeling either.
All she ever wanted was a simple act of care or attention from anyone around her. She would much appreciate a 'how are you today?'.
In her point of view, she has the most tiring life ever. At least she thinks she does.
What she doesn't know is that there's someone out there, just a few feet away from her who's life is a living hell, nothing compared to hers. Someone who everyone he loves and cherishes has died and left him alone. Someone who truly lives in utter darkness and gloom.
To him, she lives a perfect life, at least if it's not that perfect, it's not gonna be worse and shattered like his own.
Everything changes when they cross paths with each other.
He's not cocky, nor is he egocentric. He's just cold. Senseless. He feels, fears, and trusts nothing nor anyone. He's always mistaken for being egocentric, while he's the opposite of that.
Scarlett herself thinks he's snobby. But will an act of care from him change her way of thinking about him or will his mistakes outshine his good soul?

Hello everyone,
I have been brainstorming these past few months for the best idea for a book. I finally have got one, and I'm feeling ecstatic just by the thought of sharing this book with you guys.
I hope you'll love it as much as I love writing and brainstorming for it.
This was the prologue, and the first chapter is on it's way soon.
